NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has named its sixth aircraft and the fifth under the "Living Legends" campaign today after musician Goran Bregović.‎ Bregović is internationally recognised for his music and has composed for varied artists. He rose to fame by playing the guitar in the iconic Yugoslav band Bijelo Dugme. The “Living Legends” program pays tribute to Serbian nationals who have excelled in their chosen profession and achieved international recognition. So far, three Airbus A319s and one A320 have been named after tennis star Novak Djoković, basketball player Vlade Divac, footballer Dejan Stanković and actor Miki Manojlović. In addition to the "Living Legends", the carrier has named its wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft after Nikola Tesla, to emphasise his links between Belgrade and New York. Air Serbia's CEP, Dane Kondić, said, “Goran Bregović has composed some of the biggest songs of the past few decades, not only in Serbia, but in the region and all over the world, and we are delighted to name an aircraft in his honour. Known for combining seemingly irreconcilable music genres and styles, Goran writes music that has lasting power. With his innovative approach and commitment, he broke through regional boundaries to emerge as a global brand". Mr Kondić added, “In many ways, his success is comparable to that of Air Serbia, which will this evening receive the 2017 Airline Market Leader award from Air Transport World at an awards ceremony in New York. So far we have named three aircraft after famous sportsmen and one after our popular actor, and it was the right time for an aircraft to be named after a renowned musician”.

      My favorites:
      - Ubicu i sebe i dijete
      - Ipak je ispostovao avion - nije dosao u koznim pantalonama...
