Eurowings to launch new Rijeka service

NEWS FLASH

Eurowings will introduce seasonal flights from Hanover to Rijeka this summer, becoming the sixth route to Croatia's third largest city. Services will operate once per week, each Thursday, starting June 22, with an Airbus A319 aircraft. The Croatian government has previously said it is in talks with the low cost airline to open a base in Rijeka. Eurowings has so far this year announced eleven new routes to Croatia. Further details for the Hanover - Rijeka flight can be found here.

It's really interesting to see all those routes from Eurowings/Germanwings to Rijeka, airport with small number of pax. I think they will introduce Munchen next summer, which will be direct competition to OU. But seasonal base? Well, politics...
