Low cost carrier Wizz Air, which boasts three bases across the former Yugoslavia, has introduced its new “Flexible Travel Partner” service, allowing customers to create a new reservation without including all passengers’ names at the time of booking. This new product has been designed for customers who want to book their trip to secure low cost fares in advance, but are still uncertain who their travel partners will be. When purchasing the Flexible Travel Partner service, Wizz customers only need to provide the name of one passenger, but can book a ticket for up to nine further passengers without including their name at the time of booking. Customers can provide the additional names at any point by accessing their online booking before online check-in is required. Wizz Air’s new Flexible Travel Partner service is available for a fee of ten euros per passenger per flight.

ReplyDeleteyupp, secondary market will develop for sure. someone will buy popular routes on wholesale and sell them with a profit and average jovans will have to pay higher prices.
Deleteif they didn't foresee how to combat this (maximum number of tickets per flight per bank account or something similair) their revenues might suffer in the end
If I remember correctly, Wizz is offering this service for years as part of the group booking option.

Thank you! Finally! Though I never fly Wizz Air I hope this will push other companies into doing the same. I don't mind the names that much, but sometimes you need date of birth and passport number. It's the one most annoying thing about group bookings

ReplyDeleteGreat product. Just booked Wizz flights and noticed the feature. Good to buy tickets in advance when they are cheap and then figure out who will travel. YOu can offer a ticket for sale to if someone in your party can't make it.
ReplyDeleteImagine if this was a typo and if Air Serbia introduced this service. Comments would have been horrible: Air Serbia is charging me 10 eur just because I don't have my family's passport info with me! Narrow seats and now this 10 eur charge! They are turning into horrible LCC, etc.
