EU takes Croatia to court over aviation legislation

NEWS FLASH

The European Commission has decided to refer Croatia to the Court of Justice of the European Union since its national legislation is not in line with Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 on common rules in the field of civil aviation security. Despite repeated request from the European Commission, Croatia has not changed the relevant legislation to comply with the European rules on aviation security. Therefore, the Commission initiated the infringement proceedings in front of the Court of Justice. In particular, Croatia is required to update its legislation regarding organisational structures, responsibilities and mechanisms to monitor activities at national airports, vis-à-vis airlines and aviation security related entities. This is a matter of administrative nature that is not linked to security shortcomings.

What sort of comment is this Anon.@4:11PM?!
Inappropriate! Why did they sue Croatia - Because they believe that Croatian authority did something wrong. (Period)
You can ask why they did not sue someone else, it is legitimate question, ali mijesati babe i zabe nema smisla. Unless one is from former Yugoslavia and than it is always someone else fault or conspiracy theories...

Because it shows how backward Croatian government is in this regard that they are behind even the two most underdeveloped member states.

Then again I think the whole point of your comment is that you wanted to take a swing at Serbs.

I can see your point now, but I was not able to get it from your original post. It is my fault.

OMG!!! Your conclusion could NOT be more wrong. But I will steer away from this.

No, OTP and SOF are not my problem because both airports are complying with EU law. That's something we can't say about Croatia and its airports.

I can't understand how it still did not happen, what are they waiting for? Haven't they stole enough money until now?!

      Seriously?

      An administrative task/change of law?

It's not just an administrative change of law. It's the European Union suing the Republic for not complying with the ultimate law of Europe.

They should also be asking the question why is it that despite EU regulations, there is still one 1 ground handler at ZAG, when in actual fact there should at least be 2
