NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines will upgrade its seasonal summer flights between Rijeka and Munich to year-round operations. According to the "Avioradar" portal, the Croatian carrier will maintain two weekly flights between the two cities past October 28, each Thursday and Sunday, with its Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft. It marks the first time Croatia Airlines will be operating out of Rijeka throughout the entire year. Rijeka Airport handled 93.901 passengers during the first seven months of 2018, representing an increase of 33.7% compared the same period last year. The growth is being fuelled by a number of new routes launched this summer, as well as a strong charter season.

Rijeka will finish this year with approx 175 000 pax, which will be new airport record. This year round route is something what is necessary for third largest city in Croatia - an connection with one european hub during the all 12 months.

RJK - MUC in last two seasons wasn't really good, but this year booking and LF are doing great.

Good job OU, this was good decision, otherwise Lufthansa would do that :)

In other news, RJK will be connected by Eurowings with both CGN and DUS throughout the year, while MUC will be served year round from SPU from MUC.

It's nice to see Croatia slowly moving from seasonality to year round. DBV and SPU must apply the same model.

Jel netko zna koliko u prosjeku dođe karta MUC-RJK?

Rijeka is very dangerous airport to fly in summer season and nearby heavy thunderstorms are very often, very difficult to avoid in Airbus 320( registration D-AEWS). Im flying today from Hamburg to Rijeka lets hope for clear-sky today and satisfied passengers.

Well done Rijeka but why only any progress with flights from Germany (more from Frankfurt this summer).
REALLY needs a decent service from London now OU gone. Ryanair will almost certainly drop for 2019 and this year is only July and August (which were announced and on sale only from 15 April - really late) - they just play games about money! RJK needs London and Paris - at least. (Paris this year is just short season, charter flights .not a LCC with seat only sales) . Yes PUY is close but UK tour operators that Brits will not fly to PUY or ZAG and transfer 3-4 hours to places like Rab and Losinj. Shame as lost business. Rijeka will be European city of culture in 2020...what a joke if there is no direct flight from London then! Population of UK 64 million and 46% take at least two shorty holidays a year. Somebody needs to do some work on UK - or what about Eurowings doing the inside W of a Germany-STN route with STN-RJK-STN in the middle?
