Dubrovnik Airport welcomed its two-millionth passenger of the year on Tuesday, eighteen days ahead of 2017. The traveller, Christian Niemeyer, arrived on a Eurowings flight from Dusseldorf. During the January - August period, Dubrovnik Airport handled 1.859.006 travellers, up 9.6% on last year. It has projected overall passenger growth of 10% in 2017.

ReplyDeleteThis airport is getting better and better every year. Really happy they are getting more year round flights. There so many things you can do in and around Dubrovnik irrespective of swimming season.
ReplyDeleteThe result is good, however still bellow original projection by the management. Airport will most likelly handle around 2.57 million passengers this year,

Problem is November - March period when airport handles less traffic than in April.

Very hard for Brac it is more of a guess work, as they don't publish all the data.
DeleteAt best I think we can expect 30k this year, around 37-38k next year and in 2020, hopefully 50k. Airport never had more than 33k.
Rijeka, hm, also quite hard to guess as they have so much seasonality. 175k this year, next year, 200k could be achieved and 2020, if all goes well 250k. Problem with Rijeka, Osijek and Brac is high seasonality, so getting the actual data is at best a guesswork.

Pula could steamroll next year as well, and record 20%+ growth, however I am being cautions with my predictions, Brexit (if it happens, very good chance it won't) could hit hard Pula airport, as it is heavily used by the Brits for their holidays.
Zadar airport is too exposed to Ryanair, they need to attract more carriers. Split, Dubrovnik will slow down in their growth post 2020. Pula could dominate post 2020s as Istria becomes even more popular for visitors.
