Serbia and Kazakhstan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services which should facilitate the establishment of flights between the two countries. The Serbian Minister for Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlović, said, "The memorandum will result in better connectivity between our two nations and will assist carriers in improving commercial cooperation and expanding their networks through codeshare arrangements. It also serves as a precondition for the launch of nonstop flights for which interest has been expressed by carriers". In 2016, the former Chairman of the Air Serbia Supervisory Board and today's Serbian Finance Minister, Siniša Mali, said the airline was considering launching flights to Kazakhstan. According to Mr Mali, the service would strengthen relations between the two countries and improve business links.
Air Astana flies to China and other Asian cities, they could offer connections via their hub. Do Serbs need visas for Kazakhstan?

ReplyDeleteSerbia is visa free for Kazakhstan passport holders. Quality and standard of life in most Kazakhstan is way higher than in Serbia. Development, improvements in Kazakhstan are faster then in Serbia. Where is your problem?

DeleteI got it. This is not a problem for Kazakhstan. Approval rate for issuing Schengen visas for Kazakhstan passport holders is very high. It's all about politics. Kazakhstan was (and is) posing less risks and was closer to the Schengen visa free access than countries like Ukraine, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia etc.. But Kazakhstan got in the Euroasian Customs Union with Russia and others so no visa free till relations Russia Eu improve.

DeleteSerbia is a much greater 'risk' when it comes to immigrants because of Albanians from the south that apply for Serbian citizenship and then go to Germany. This afternoon a B738 full of Albanian immigrants was flown from TXL to BEG. Last week a Bulgaria E90 flew from DUS to SKP via BEG, full of immigrants. So you really think Kazakhstan is an issue?
DeleteI have travelled to KZ many times and it is a lot more developed than many people think it is. Middleclass Kazakhstanis like to travel but their preferences tend to be warm, seaside destinations either Mediterranean, South East Asian or Dubai. Don't think Serbia will have much appeal to them, but Montenegro or Croatia might.

DeleteI don't know about everyone but Kazakhstan has long, cold, nay ... freezing winters, is landlocked (the Caspuan doesn't really count) and I am telling you that the locals love beach holidays and that is why they flock to Turkey, Spain, Dubai and Thailand. Unless global warming recreates the ancient Pannonian Sea I'm ready to call the fact that people from Kazakhstan won't be breaking any Serbian tourism records ;-) :-)

DeleteA bit overly sensitive there. I told you I have been to KZ many times and have spent several months there. Middleclass people from KZ overwhelmingly want warm beach holidays. When winter temps in Astana hit -30° C you too would be dreaming of South Coast Turkey and the Gulf of Thailand and not Kragujevac Riviera ;-)
