LOT Polish Airlines will launch a new seasonal one weekly service between Krakow and Dubrovnik this coming summer, complementing its year-round flights from Warsaw to the Croatian city. Services from Krakow will run each Saturday, starting May 25, with the 118-seat Embraer E195 jet. LOT will face no direct competition on the route. Further flight details can be found here.
Fantastic news for Dubrovnik. I hope next year they can pull of 10% growth! Slowly slowly they are linking this ancient city with the most important European centers. Maybe next year AA can expand its offer by launching ORD-DBV. Or maybe Transat can consider DBV as SPU is too close to ZAG.

KRK concluded 2018 by serving a total of 6,769,369 and they used to have 593,214 in 2003!!
The airport will grow like crazy this year with many new routes so I won't be surprised if SPU,PUY, ZAD or BWK will be next. The Poles are the new Germans.
The Polish economy is growing like crazy and Poles are directly profiting from it.

On the other hand, southern Poland is also rich.
Polish have literally invaded new countries such as: Spain, Tunis, Egypt, Bulgaria, UAE, Greece and now apparently Montenegro too.
They are also increasing KRK-ORD from 2 to 3 weekly flights. Seems like it's their second hub in the making.
DeleteAwerage net wage in Poland for 2018 is 784€ with annual growth 4,08%. Croatia 802€ (1,25%), Slovakia 748€ (-0,94%).
DeleteYes but there are 38 million Poles while there are less than 4 million Croats left in Croatia. That means that there are a lot more rich people in Poland than in the other two countries you mentioned.

ReplyDeleteGreat news for DBV. Another great season ahead for most airports in Croatia. ZAG and OSI really failed, basically no new routes/carriers announced.

ReplyDeleteŠto reći? LOT je u ekspanziji. Jedino imam osjećaj da logistički nisu još pohvatali konce. Ima dosta kritika na internetu na račun otkazanih letova. A i ja mogu to potvrdit. Već sam spavao u WAW zbog toga. A slijedeći dan jutarnji let prebukiran. :/

DeleteWell. Practicly I do not believe. What does cancellation of flight to PRG or to ARN flown on EMB to do with engine problem on 787? When my flight was cancelled five or six more LOT flight were cancelled, none long distance, all short or medium distance.
DeleteTheoretically it could mean that technical problems on 787 causes them so much logistical problems that whole schedule gets messed, because they can not plan crews properly etc.
However, me as an outsider can not really believe this
