NEWS FLASH

The Swiss subsidiary of the recently-bankrupt Germania has been taken over by Albex Aviation, owned by businesswoman Leyla Ibrahimi - Salahi, who is also the CEO of tour operator Air Prishtina. Germania confirmed that Ms Ibrahimi - Salahi has taken a 100% stake in the company, including the 40% share previously owned by the bankrupt Germania. Air Prishtina, which is one of the largest air service providers in Kosovo and Macedonia, has an extensive contract in place with Germania Flug. The Swiss airline was not affected by the bankruptcy of its parent company earlier this month and has continued normal operations. Germania Flug maintains a fleet of three aircraft, including two Airbus A319s and one A321. It also boasts orders for three A320neo jets, which are due to be delivered next year.

I am not holding my breath, it's one thing to have a tour operator and a whole different thing to run an airline. They will need to up their game if they are to survive and I am not talking about only relying on gasto routes but others as well.
