Lufthansa will introduce three new routes to the former Yugoslavia this coming summer season and boost frequencies on the Serbian market. The German carrier will launch new seasonal flights from both Munich and Frankfurt to Tivat, as well as from Munich to Rijeka. The development will mark Lufthansa's entry onto the Montenegrin market and its sixth destination in Croatia. Operations to Tivat will launch on April 13 and 14, once per week, with the airline's 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, with the one weekly Rijeka service to commence May 25 and run with the ninety-seat Bombardier CRJ900 jet. The carrier will compete directly against Montenegro Airlines on the Munich - Tivat route, and complement its codeshare partner Croatia Airlines on the Rijeka service.
Lufthansa will launch an extra seven weekly flights to Belgrade this summer season with an additional daily service between Munich and the Serbian capital, totalling three daily flights. The new rotation will operate in the evening, departing Munich at 21.05 and arriving at 22.35, while the return service is scheduled to leave Belgrade at 06.30 and touch down in the Bavarian capital at 08.00. Lufthansa faces no competition on the route. The Munich service complements the airline's double daily flights from Frankfurt to Belgrade. The airline also plans to maintain capacity on its Frankfurt - Zagreb service this summer. Lufthansa will wet-lease a 100-seat Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft from Iberia Regional (Air Nostrum), which will be deployed on both of its two daily flights to the Croatian capital as of March 30.
Elsewhere, Lufthansa will keep the same number of frequencies on its seasonal summer routes to the Croatian coast this year. This includes three weekly flights from Frankfurt to Pula, as well as daily operations to Dubrovnik and Split. From Munich, Lufthansa will maintain eight weekly services to Dubrovnik and Split, two weekly to Pula and three weekly to Zadar. "We have a lot of loyal customers in Croatia, and an excellent reputation, and it delights us to connect Croatia with the world via our hubs, and so contribute to its development", the airline said. The carrier will also continue to maintain daily operations between Munich and Sarajevo. “Lufthansa has been expanding services from Sarajevo to Germany and the European Union by introducing new flights together with Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Eurowings, and now accounts for 25% of all traffic at Sarajevo Airport. We look forward to continuing to provide services and a flexible network to travellers in the region”, the company noted.

It's also nice that LH Group will finally have some real competition in BEG from Sky Team with both Air France and Transavia fighting back. This should keep fares low which will stimulate passenger numbers even more.
I am surprised Wizz Air isn't responding to this market growth. Seems like they are happy to give the market to others.
Depends on the US destination
Remember, that they have a Crew Base in summer in ZAG.. (3 based CRJ)
I hope LH is considering to introduce it

For me it was the best possible flight schedule between Frankfurt and Belgrade, ofcourse mostly for P2P passengers

You are right. Year by year. 2017 one daily frequency on Airbus, mostly 319. 2018 two daily frequencies on 100 seater. 2019 exactly the same as 2018. But hey, let's now introduce something new, let's mention some 2 years period, just to show "downgrade" which does not exist. And let's once again point out difficult January with 87 passengers less, imagine, one full Q400, imagine whole 87 people less in ZAG then one year before, to show how badly everything goes in ZAG for LH and all others. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic....
You are worse than that overly optimistic Croatian guy who came on here with his forecasts up until 2050.
Gorski Kotar? Ilirsku Bistricu i Pivku?
Da ja živim u Münchenu ne znam da li bih letio za Rijeku. Ja više ili manje sve što je do 600km idem autom ili vlakom.
Ali dobro. Nisam je mjerilo. Neka im je sa srećom.
