Belavia to eliminate Budapest stop to Belgrade

Belarus' national carrier Belavia will discontinue its stop in Budapest on services between Minsk and Belgrade this coming winter season. The carrier, which holds fifth freedom rights between the Hungarian and Serbian capitals, will maintain three weekly nonstop services from Minsk starting October 28, each Monday, Thursday and Saturday, with its fifty-seat Bombardier CRJ200 jet. The airline currently operates two weekly operations via Budapest to Belgrade, while one weekly flight runs nonstop. As a result, Belgrade will no longer be linked with the Hungarian capital. Air Serbia, which previously maintained services between the two cities, will commence two weekly flights from Niš to Budapest on August 1.

So this is the fourth increase this winter:

1. AF daily A320 from CDG
2. B2 without BUD stop
3. A3 from 3 to 5 weekly.
4. U2 from 3 to 4 from GVA from February.

Of course your luggage goes through, it's the same airline. And Serbians don't need visas to enter Belarus, so there would be no need for a transit visa either.

But how is transfering regulated? Do you go out and go in again through security and check-in again or...? I read some reviews of Belavia and they weren'great for transfer passengers.

You get your boarding pass for both flights in Belgrade. When you land in Minsk you go to your next gate.

The opportunities for transfer via MSQ will be higher. BEG is poorly connected to the Caucausus region and B2 is the right choice.

Huh? Connection to what exactly? A city that's 360 km away? Like this we get faster access to the Baltics, Nordics and the CIS. I think those are better than Budapest.

You pass through border in Belarus because planes between Russia and Belarus are considered domestic flights. You will not get a stamp in Russia, only Belarus.
