NEWS FLASH

The Deputy Minister for Communication and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saša Dalipagić, has held talks with the Macedonian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ekrem Ebibi, to discuss the introduction of flights between Sarajevo and Skopje. Both sides agreed to begin work on establishing the service and meet with potential operating carriers. Bosnia and Herzegovina's former flag carrier, B&H Airlines, maintained flights between Sarajevo and Skopje on an off-and-on basis for several years. At one point services operated via Podgorica, although the airline had no fifth freedom rights between the Montenegrin capital and Skopje. In 2017, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, said an airline had expressed interest for the introduction of flights between Sofia and Sarajevo via Skopje. He did not specify which carrier was considering the route.

They should approach JU to operate these flights, they can even give them subventions.

No, it would make most sense to approach Wizz Air.

Not really, A320 is way too big for this route. Atr is perfect.

Yes, because Air Serbia has spare ATRs sitting around.

      It could work like this:

      BEG-SJJ 06.30-07.30
      SJJ-SKP 08.00-09.00
      SKP-SJJ 09.30-10.30
      SJJ-BEG 11.00-12.00

Again, Air Serbia does not have ATRs sitting around for it to take one of these highly utilized planes out for 2 and a half hours.

Wizz cannot fly this route unless they have a Macedonian or Bosnian registered aircraft. Personally, I think they should register a single aircraft for all the Balkan routes they can fly.

If Wizz registered one aircraft in Macedonia then they are able to send flights to Russia and Israel. Two destinations that are needed. Plus tourists from those countries can come and visit the Republic of Macedonia. The Sarajevo flight is it needed, my opinion Not ready.

We keep on hearing about this demand from SKP to Russia but if there was really demand then someone would launch flights already. Why isn't Pobeda entering the market? I think it's not enough and W6 wouldn't perform that well as the flight would be well over three hours. Tickets would be too expensive.

Fly Bosnia should start this route and offer connections via SJJ to its middle East network.
