Adria signs collective agreement with pilots

NEWS FLASH

Adria Airways has signed a new collective bargaining agreement with pilots which will "calm down the labour situation in the company", the carrier said. It noted the new agreement enables "the continued focus of the management on the stability of the business and the provision of services". The deal is valid through to 2023 and averts a series of multi-day strikes announced by pilots for September and October. Adria did not disclose the details of the agreement.

Anyone know why there were massive delays few days ago? It was really bad, almost every flight was delayed.

Fog. Several planes were diverted to TRS and VIE.

Failure of ILS system in LJU airport. JP is in attention like always because they are the only airline flying in the morning and have most flights in LJU.

Fog was not the main reason for delays. Morning peak was still operated, as planes were departing, and by the time first peak came back, the fog was already gone. Several planes were out of service on that day. Complete mess!!

    1. Don't spread a fake news. Morning arrivals were diverted (JP and HV to TRS, TK to VIE, cargo to BTS) and two JP's plane got home with a long delay. One CRJ went tech at that morning. Morning outbound flights were not affected with a fog and ILS problem, but this is valid only for planes which were in LJU...

    1. ILS can't do much if the fog prevents the pilots seeing with their own eyes the runway lights.

"Happy taxpayer", you have no idea what are you talking about. Sometimes it's better to stay quiet. ILS can provide 0 visibility landings (CAT IIIc), depending on the category of equipment on the ground and on board the aircraft. Whether or not it is used is another question, but don't say ILS can't do anything if the pilots can't see the runway.

  6. This is not an attack on the admin of this site, however something simply does not add up.

It's reported that at least some of the business bank accounts of JP are suspended and that to a void a 250 EUR compensation to a passenger in Vienna the airline cancels a flight. Yet the airline completes two short leases, one for a BAe 146 and the other for an Embraer jet, and you can't complete these deals without access to money. Now the pilots have signed a collective agreement.

It appears that we're being subjected to sensationalised (mis)reporting about JP. It may be wishful thinking, but I do hope JP pull off a 'great escape' and survive. The aviation in the region would be poorer without them, so I'm rooting for them.

Problem is not with the admin of this site. I see they are doing a decent job to keep news factual as much possible. Problem is with few people that continuosly spread fake news on adria both in regular press and in comments and everywhere. I notice that caused a lot of damage to adria.

You only have to look at their schedule to see how stable they are. Meanwhile their plane operating for Swiss has broken down and has been unable to fly for days. Lots of unhappy passengers.

    3. For days? One return flight was canceled on the 14th and all flights on the 15th. Let's stick to facts.

    4. Anonymous13:47

Then stick to the facts, ben. And the facts are: according to the schedule JP should operate 8 flights per day on LUG-ZRH and ZRH-LUG. They operated 2 last weekend. So 2/16 is not bad for you? Well...

"Fake news". FFS people, open your eyes. 5-6 aircraft AOG at some times, daily 6+ hours delays and triangle Balkan bus tours. Police and debt collectors waiting aircraft in VIE due to unpaid compensation. Salaries delayed by weeks.

      Fakes news. Right.

No. It's all fake news. They've never merged or cancelled any flight. And as such they don't owe any compensation to any passenger.

Long time hoped they come through, as I am heavily dependent on Adria for business flights out of LJU. Looking at the reality, its worse and worse every day. So now I have really given up all hope and now just hope for fast (and accidentless) end to this. And hopefully quick reaction by LH/LX... to get us going again.

    2. Anonymous21:39

Given all the wet leasing business going on at LH, LX, OS, I seriously doubt they have extra capacity to fly to LJU. So, good luck flying to anywhere from LJU. But since most of the Slovenes use VCE, ZAG, TRS, GRZ, it shouldn't be such a big deal.

Well, at least some Slovenes will be happy. Good luck going to BRU, FRA, MUC and especially to the Balkans. You hated Adria, now say hello to nobody. Lufthansa, Brussles Airlines, Swiss don't give a crap about LJU (at least not three times per day).

    3. Anonymous23:49

you know what the joke saying is here (and I dont mean it in any nationalistic way, but it's a clever wordplay): excluding CRO for summer holidays the slovenes don't go to the balkans to visit, only slovenian citizens do so.

so basically only the politicians will not be very happy cause their BRU connection will be a bit bumpy at the beginning.

i read it correctly...but you wrote "on top of that" -> i was refering to that...there will not be on top on anything...next month will be probably without JP, so no baseline to put something on top of that. sematics, i know, but why the hell not :)

hahaha ok, in that case both Transavia and I agree with you.

Interesting how AF-KL has been the most prepared for this scenario. AF cut the code-share ages ago and is doubling flights while KL is responding through Transavia. I think KL-HV will have more seats in LJU than in ZAG next month.
