NEWS FLASH

Sarajevo Airport has selected developers for the long-announced reconstruction of its runway. Italy’s Tecno Engineering 2C (TE2C) will draft the project for the overhaul of the runway and the construction of new taxiways. The work will cover an area of 216,000 square metres. TE2C has extensive experience in airport construction and carried out work at Mostar Airport in 2014. It has partnered up with the Mostar-based Ecoplan and Integram companies for the Sarajevo Airport project. Sarajevo's runway was last upgraded in 1998. The airport is currently in the midst of a significant expansion project.

You're supposed to overhaul everything on the runway every 20 years in an airport that serves <1 million passengers yearly so it's a lot of work
