Low cost carrier Ryanair will discontinue flights from Stockholm Skavsta to Niš at the start of the 2020 summer season in late March. In a statement to EX-YU Aviation News, the airline said, "This route from Niš to Stockholm Skavsta will not operate from April 2020, as we continually review each of our 2.100 routes and put together a schedule based on many factors including base availability, historical route performance and market demand. However, we’ll continue offering the lowest fares from Niš to Berlin, Bratislava, Malta and Milan Bergamo next summer". The last flight between Skavsta Airport and the south-east Serbian city is scheduled to operate on March 28. Last week Ryanair shifted its planned new Hahn - Niš route to Banja Luka after it was unable to secure a flight permit, while Swiss International Air Lines announced it would discontinue services from Zurich.

...and then some want them to replace JU tout HHN. No thanks.

ReplyDeleteYes. It seems like on average INI has the lowest fares in the whole Europe.
DeleteAir Serbia ending INI-BUD is an opportunity for them to start Stockholm from Nis. Ryanair just proved Stockholm is not commerically viable from Nis, so subsidy for Air Serbia to start that route is justified.

Silly Billy, 738 can't make it from INI to SYD
DeleteTrade Air operated ZAG - SYD some 12 years ago, via Larnaca, Dubai, Mumbai, Calcutta, Medan, Denpasar, Darwin and Alice Springs on FOKKER 100. It was ferry flight, no passengers, to operate chain of domestic charter flights for Australian Government in electorial campaign. So, technically, 738 can make INI-SYD for sure, even with passengers, depending on conditions, of course, LOL
DeleteWhich route is really commercially viable from Nis? INI-TIV, for sure. And that flight have to be a year-round:winter 1-2 pw/summer: daily.
