Sarajevo Airport will purchase three new air bridges for its passenger terminal. Two will replace the existing ones, while the third will be used on the new expanded part of the terminal building, which is due to be completed by autumn 2020. The total value of the three bridges is estimated at 2.7 million euros. Tender procedures for the purchase of the new equipment has begun and runs until January 6, 2020. The winner will have just under a year to install the new air bridges once an agreement is signed. Sarajevo Airport is in the midst of a major expansion project. In addition to adding 10.000 square metres to its passenger terminal, it is also building a new VIP terminal, administrative building and expanding its main apron. The airport also plans to renovate its runway and taxiways, while the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency will overhaul Sarajevo Airport’s control tower.

DeleteThis is perfect. Sarajevo will skip Podgorica and Tivat airport in just 2 years. In 4 years, Sarajevo will skip Ljubljana airport. With all of this, Sarajevo airport will take 7th place at exyu airports. I think that Sarajevo deserves 4th place, just after Belgrade, Zagreb, Split.

DeleteSarajevo already this summer, in June, July, and August had more passengers than Podgorica, despite Podgorica having quite some Ryanair and Wizz routes, and Sarajevo not (apart from one Wizz route). Cant wait for Sarajevo to get a real LCC :)
DeleteI don't understand why Lufthansa group airlines stopped using these Air bridges that are already there? They are meant to be full service airlines. Even in Munich and Vienna I have had to be biased to the terminal.
ReplyDeletethey did not decide to stop using the air bridges, they just decided to not play along the most ridiculous ploys of the airport any longer
Deletethe good thing is, that the airport chilled down recently and they do not try to force them back to airbridge prices with some random acts of sabotage as they did just after the change (forcing to use buses for those 50 m, but not making any bus available ...)
