Eurowings will discontinue flights between its base in Pristina and Vienna on January 25 just over two months following the route’s introduction. It comes as a result of strong competition from Wizz Air, which launched the same service on December 18. Eurowings maintains one weekly flight between the two cities, whereas Wizz Air operates four weekly services. Both airlines compete against Austrian Airlines on the route. Eurowings will continue to maintain flights from Pristina to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart.
shame that PRN starts 2020 with negative news. Hopefully OS can compete with W6 and chase them away.

Wizz is a predator which carries point to point. Austrian has been for ages in PRN and they are connecting us to the world with their hub. Wizz is no different than the bus companies. Also they are only cheap as long as they competition. Once OS is gone we will be paying €250 to Vienna with a much worse service than with OS

You are more than free to continue paying 250€ to OS to travel to VIE and then 1200 more to travel to Tokyo.
The rest of us we want to be free to make that choice for ourselves.
I live in the US and thanks to OS I have been going home for ages in a comfortable and safe manner. What benefit will I have if Wizz triumphs in PRN and destroys OS? You shouldn't be selfish like that, there are other people out there who need OS. You should see how many passengers from PRN board OS flights to Canada and USA.
DeleteI am not the one who wants to take away your choice of travel. You want to get rid of LCCs and W6 who benefit the people who actually live in Kosovo a whole lot more than airlines like OS or BA.
DeleteBecause Wizz is a predator who dumps prices to chase out competition. Long term Kosovo benefits much more from OS than W6, look at prices from SKP and how they were growing for a while now. OS provides Kosovo's connection to the world, Wizz doesn't. Sorry.
DeleteWizz has pricing which responds to demand only. If they were ‘dumping’ then flights would’ve been sold out all the time but that isn’t the case. Prices are not going up, demand is, and capacity’s being added because Wizz regularly self-cannibalize in order to keep margins healthy and with that competition away, because they have an incomparable cost advantage to the tune of 2c/ASK ex fuel.

Thank the Lord almighty OS are being shown the door. They have been the real predator, sucking out blood for decades with monopolistic overcharging. The shoe’s on the other foot now and they have an obsolete business model. Good riddance.
DeleteYeah mighty Wizz Air is always excused with the same excuses but at the end of the day I end up paying 200 Pounds to fly from village called Luton to SKP. If I have to be ripped off then i might as well enjoy the flight and not be humiliated like when flying on Wizz starting from their hectic and schizophrenic cabin luggage policies which change every few months. Same will happen to PRN-VIE when they kill OS. Prices will skyrocket and demand won't be adjusted because they need to make money on at least some routes from VIE ;)

Wrong. EW is not and was never a subsidiary of OS but OS, LH, EW, LX are all part (to 100%) of Lufthansa Group.
