Croatia Airlines sees softer bookings over Covid-19

NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines has said it is currently experiencing a 17% decline in booking numbers over fears associated with the coronavirus known as Covid-19. “During February we saw a modest decrease in bookings being made for March and April, as well as the coming months. This shows that our passengers are hopeful the situation with the coronavirus will improve as time passes by”, the airline said. The decline in bookings has been recorded both for the carrier’s international and domestic flights. “The situation can change for the better or worse, depending on weather the virus will further spread”, the company noted. The airline industry is facing its worst downturn since the 2008 financial crisis as a result of Covid-19.

They just can't catch a break these days. It also doesn't help number of infected people in Croatia keeps on increasing.

All airlines are experiencing a decline in bookings. It's just that OU states it publicly, while others won't.

I really doubt it is only OU affected. My friend flew EW from PMI-DUS and she shared a photo where there was literally nobody on the plane and almost the entire hotel was empty in Germany too.

Pointless saying "they can't catch a break", this industry is highly cyclical and we were due the next recession. Hopefully this one will be short. Croatis just experienced 4 strong years wof booming economy and travel - that should have been OU's "break" but they failed to harness the market. This industry is cutthroat.
