Montenegro Airlines is suspending a number of flights as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. Based on a decision adopted by the Montenegrin government, nationals from France, Switzerland and Germany are no longer allowed entry into Montenegro, which remains the only country in Europe without a single confirmed case. Services to will be discontinued to Paris, Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich as of tomorrow until at least April 1. The carrier will continue to operate services from Podgorica to Belgrade and Ljubljana, as well as from Tivat to Belgrade and Moscow. The carrier previously discontinued all flights between the Montenegrin capital and Rome.
In the meanwhile Lufthansa begs countries(germany,austria,switzerland,belgium) for state aid... now its ok for free money. Hypocrites
ReplyDeleteThere are legal provision to provide aid in matters of emergency, which includes preservation of workplaces and if decided should be provided to every business, despite the size. It is not the same thing when an international transport business operates in "normal" circumstances when market competitiveness is a rule or when there is significant reduction of freedom of movement of people and goods. On the other hand, LH employs so many people in so many countries. Letting even a part of them would have significant social impact. Did you think about that? Or you just wanted to be hateful?

Sve avio kompanije obustavljaju letove zato sto nema putnika. A onda kao drzava zabrani letove zbog virusa da bi mogla da upumpa novac u iste.Zasto je AS obustavila letove za ZRH pa ih vratila nakon 4 dana? Zasto CRO ne ukine recimo leove ZAG-FRA?

DeleteIn Australia and it sounds like its about to kick off here. Personally I think we are overreacting (just my personal opinion) so the question I want to ask is, Have any of you here had a personal experience with Corona? Friends, family or personal confirmed cases??
ReplyDeleteThe way I have been putting it to people is to think of the flu and when you or someone you know had the influenza (flu proper not just a cold). Not many people can say they remember or recall someone near them having the influenza. Now I know this is more severe so the chances are increased, there no vaccine etc but I think many of us will not even notice the virus apart from restriction, loss of jobs food/toilet paper shortages etc.
I ask people to do some research and see the numbers associated with recent influenza outbreaks (last 10 years) especially in Italy and the numbers effected and deaths associated. Numbers are in the millions and thousands respectively yet we haven't had this world wide panic.
Now again, I understand this virus is worse, more deadly, and no treatment but its not something in terms of the effect on the population we haven't seen before. The panic is worse in my opinion.
The problem is the effect of pandemic on health systems. If there is no quarantine, the number of cases rises exponentially and will overflow the capacity of even the largest and the best health systems in the world.
DeleteSo if there's no more beds in the ICU, doctors will have to perform triage to determine who is worthy enough to treat (young people in not too bad condition). Everybody else will be left to die.
That's why they are trying to quarantine the outbreak, move the peak of the pandemic to the future and flatten out the curve.
Oh I think people are definitely overreacting to this. Yes, people should be careful but not everyone is at risk here, only those who are old and already sick should be cautious. Also, media keeps on ignoring the fact that over 75.000 people have been cured so far. Yes, people have died from it but then again, how many people have died from HIV-AIDS, diabetes, cancer obesity... so far this year? In Serbia alone, each year 5.000 people die from diabetes alone. Mind you, this number is purely from neglecting the disease and from not caring enough about it to take care of yourself. Yet local media doesn't care about it and for them it makes no difference.
DeleteMedia is only writing about corona because it's sexy and easy to sell especially as the number of infected people keeps on increasing.
Luckily the situation seems to be under control in China and South Korea so at least in some parts of the world the sun is rising after a dark night.
As far as Serbia is concerned, I was told that they don't expect the number of new cases to start dropping in the next three months. So I guess the frenzy here will continue at least until June, July.

That's what people don't understand. They think because they themselves won't die, it's fine. It's not. This is not the flu. The flu doesn't overwhelm the healthcare system like this is doing. Please read what the doctors and nurses in Italy are saying. If you still think no biggie, then I don't know what else to say. You think ex-Yu has a better and more extensive healthcare system than Italy???
