Zagreb Airport handled 97.063 passengers in March, representing a decline of 58.3% on the same month last year. The number of aircraft movements decreased 31.2% to 2.310. The figures were impacted by the unprecedented drop in demand, as well as the cancellations of flights resulting from the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. During the first quarter of the year, Zagreb Airport welcomed 484.334 travellers through its doors, down 20%. So far this year, it has shed 120.995 passengers on 2019.

This is really not that bad when you take into consideration all that happened.

Most statistics will make comparisons to 2019 again, this year will be largely ignored in economic statistics.

I think at this point we need to see what's going to happen with the economy. We should pray tourism picks up from July otherwise unemployment will boom. Officially we are at around 145.000 unemployed but it could easily go to 200.000 with Craots returning home from abroad and if tourism industry starts firing even more people, especially seasonal workers. :/

It's not only tourism, little production we have might lose foreign customers creating a deeper crisis.

I expected better figures as it was open the whole month and the only one in croatia for several days if not weeks.

Same here. Their decline is identical to Sarajevo, I expected Zagreb to do a bit better.

I think this summer season will be a write off. I too was planning on coming in July but have decided to make it an early October vacation as long as things somehow get back to normal.
