Korean Air cancels Zagreb service

NEWS FLASH

Korean Air has ended ticket sales for its seasonal flights between Seoul and Zagreb, which were to resume on September 1. The airline has revised its international network as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic and now plans to operate 32 of its 110 international routes in June, equivalent to 146 flights per week or 20% of its usual international capacity. During May, it is operating just thirteen routes, or 55 flights per week. Services between Seoul and Zagreb were originally planned to resume in March but were then delayed until June and later to September as the virus continued to spread and hopes of a recovery on the aviation market faded. The airline handled 43.123 passengers on the route in 2019.

Ugh this is going from bad to worse. Hopefully LO, DY or Asiana jump in to fill the void.

People will still want to travel plus KE is on the verge of bankruptcy

    5. The world committed economic suicide with the related covid19 lock downs. We still have not started to feel the impact. The middle class will be worst hit (possibly wiped out). Will take at least 5 years for numbers to start to approach what we were used to last year.

Shame but not unexpected. QR also felt this and I'm sure EK has too. Better times will come, that's for sure.

3 times a week is really crazy. People are not allowed to enter for touristic purposes. Why go on holiday and stay in the hotel for 2 weeks withut leaving?

Anon 11:00 EK is still on for 4 times (1,2,4,6) to ZAG a week as per their booking on the website..

And if you exclude government loans, it would be 99%.

Why do you keep saying KE is going bankrupt. Korean government just announced a massive bailout for them, they have many assets they can sell for years to come, and the government will continue to support them since they are a national carrier. Are you thinking of united or American or all the other airlines that exist.?

I just read on an aviation portal that KE will resume some of their intl.routes from 1 June and some European routes are also included: Frankfurt, Paris, London and Amsterdam.
