Wizz already flies from SKP and TGD to MXP and in the next month they will also start from TIA (to BGY) and PRN. Will definitely be interesting to see

France-Szerbia is right. The SKP-MXP route might be affected or hurt as there was no flight from PRN.
It seems that all the airports in the region are connected to Milan's airports MXP and BGY. I think it's time for a connection to Milan's 3rd airport: LIN.

we see the same question popping up with every new route launched from PRN or even INI (but never for OHD funny enough). wondering why.

people on this blog seem to overestimate the amount of people from neighbouring countries using SKP airport. yes of course there are but not of a crucial amount

another thing AirPristina offers charters to Milan as they do to Verona among other charter companies. They are the first to be "impacted" by this if at all

The only reason OHD grew so much in 2019 is because Wizz has not been growing in Albania. That changed recently so let's see what happens of that little airport. So far they only had one great year.

It was reported on here that CEO of PRN said that about half of passengers at SKP are from PRN area. He is in the business so I doubt he would be making this up.

Needless to mention that PRN is doing widebody A340, BA LGW and has its pluses when it comes to connectivity. PRN does not entirely rely on 1 airline and enjoying legacy plus LCC mix.

PRN is the only ex-Yu connection. Sad fact is that W6 is really skipping the region.

there are no numbers publicily available for INI-SZG so please refrain from words like "killing it" (we know how the german numbers look like and they are far from it)

SZG seamed like a logic destination for long time for the eastern parts of Ex-Yu if it wasnt for the expensive airport

From what I know only STR is a bit weaker, the rest are ok. Lufthansa added some 60.000 passengers on BEG-MUC in 2019 so I would consider that a success.

As for INI-SZG, we might not have the numbers but we have this:

ZRH-INI performed just fine until JU launched their subsidized flights to that German village right on the border. It's not like the route failed in a Star Alliance hub with minimal competition.

I would be very surprised if ZRH failed because of launching FDH. We have seen a LF of less then 30% in some months. Then more probably because of Basel and Wizz or just the yields were not right
