NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is gradually reintroducing frequencies on its signature Belgrade - New York service, which was reinstated last Saturday after almost three months. The route initially returned on a one weekly basis, with a second weekly flight introduced this week. As of next week, the airline has announced it will commence a third weekly service, with flights to depart Belgrade each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. During the peak of the 2019 summer season, the carrier maintained six weekly rotations to the Big Apple.

Fantastic news! Really happy to see BEG-JFK turn into such a success! Let's not forget that this route was launched among the first ones and even before transfers were allowed!

Good news for JU is that OS won't be flying to JFK (only EWR) until 30.09!

Because of transfer passengers babe, plus they plan on having just two flights to EWR on their ancient uncomfortable 767

Except JU is useless for transfers at JFK. They hardly offer any interline/code share tickets and the ones they do offer usually require absurd 5-6 hours waits. If there is one thing I really wish JU could improve, it would be their connectivity out of JU.

@Anon at 17:57 During pandemic every airline is useless for transfers at JFK.
Before covid, Air Serbia had great interline with Jetblue next door. You could get from BEG to JAX and many other smaller destinations with only one stop. Try that with useless Austrian or Lufhtnasa.

Sort of a pointless comparison because JFK is not a Star alliance hub (EWR is).

JFK is the main airport in New York, EWR is in New Jersey btw. That is why you have so many Star Alliance carriers flying to both airports. Unfortunately seems like OS is giving up on transfers to New York and they would rather focus on offering connections to UA.

@Anon 8:19 please be so kind and double check your facts. Although EWR is located in NJ, it services New York metropolitan area. For many of us living in Manhattan, it is better connected than JFK. You can easily get there by NJ transit or the Path trains, or even Amtrak. Getting to JFK is is still a hassle: LIE is often jammed if you are trying to get there by taxi, a subway train takes at least one hour and you need to switch to AirTrain at the Jamaica Station. Personally, I don't like EWR because it is an UA hub which I avoid at all costs, especially since I am an AA/OW ff

JFK is the primary airport in the city, that's why airlines are desperate to fly there.

It would be interesting to know what’s the percentage of “new” pax on these flights. By new I mean not those that had ticket purchased for April 1 and rebooked for let’s say today

How can a plane packed with overseas travelers just fly in?? Our domestic flights are using precautions and flying half full. Do these passengers get temp check..do they go to a hotel to quarantine????
