Sarajevo Airport seeks state aid

NEWS FLASH

Sarajevo Airport has requested government assistance in order to cover the losses incurred as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. The airport’s management met with the Federal Minister for Transport and Communications, Denis Lasić, noting it would take two years for the airport’s traffic volume to reach pre-pandemic levels. The airport has requested an unspecified sum to cover its losses. Mr Lasić noted he would relay information to the government in order to secure financial assistance. Since its reopening at the start of the month, several airlines have resumed flights, including Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air Serbia, Croatia Airlines, Wizz Air and Eurowings, while Pegasus Airlines will restore its operations from Istanbul starting tomorrow and Flydubai from July 8. The airport was closed for commercial traffic from March 30 until June 1 due to the pandemic.

Possibly. Equally difficult to explain to someone that the country is hindering the air traffic development, to someone who understands a country is being developed with the increase of air traffic in it.
