Air Serbia resumes Turkey charters

NEWS FLASH

Over the next two weeks, Air Serbia is planning on operating at least eight charter flights to Antalya in Turkey, the airline has announced. The first charter to the Turkish coast operated on Sunday, July 5, with 144 passengers on board the Boeing 737-300 jet. Flights to Antalya will be run by both Airbus A319 and B737 aircraft. “I am delighted that, in cooperation with our tour operator partners, we have recommenced charter flights. The coronavirus pandemic has severely affected this segment of travel. We know that there is great interest for charter flights, especially during the summer season, which is evidenced by the excellent results Air Serbia has been reporting in this field year after year. We are fully at the disposal of our tour operator partners in order to, in accordance with existing circumstances, organise charter flights to different destinations, and enable our passengers to have their well-earned vacations this summer again and reach their destinations safely and comfortably,“ Boško Rupić, Head of Trade and Corporate Sales at Air Serbia, said. So far this month, the Serbian national carrier has flights planned between Belgrade and Antalya today, as well as on July 9, 11, 15, 17, 18 and July 19.

  2. Maybe KVO should re-route their planned flights to SKG to Turkey given that Greece is now off limits. JU is not getting the subsidies if they are not flying from there, right?

An ATR all the way from KVO to AYT? That would be one long and uncomfortable flight!

Besides, you say Greece is off limits (I know) but what about Turkey and its disastrous covid numbers? You know how much lobbying Turkey is doing and how much pressure they are putting on many EU states, mostly GER+AUT to open borders at least for tourist charter flights. Today AUT closed the border even to EU members such as Bulgaria again so also that is now off limits. Situation both in Serbia and Turkey are really bad and neither side should currently allow these charters.
