NEWS FLASH

Turkish Airlines will increase its operations between Istanbul and Belgrade with the carrier to operate nine weekly flights between the two cities starting September 18. As previously reported, Air Serbia will add a further two rotations for a total of seven from September 19. The two airlines codeshare on each other’s flights. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Turkish Airlines operated double daily services to Belgrade. Turkish and Serbian nationals face no restrictions upon entry into each other’s countries. In addition to Turkish Airlines and Air Serbia, Pegasus Airlines also runs flights between Istanbul and Belgrade.

Why are you 3 anons so obsessed with a widebody; is it like it is something so special? Just another little larger aircraft the rest is more or less the same.

Talking of bigger planes at BEG, Pegasus is sending its A321neo tomorrow. I believe that's a first for them. The plane can seat 239 passengers. I guess demand must be booming right now.

I wonder if Pegasus might respond as well? I suppose tourism is slowly recovering from corona which is great. So BEG-IST is almost 21 right now with Pegasus.

It's up to Serbian CAD actually. Pegasus would fly to BEG 10 times a week if it was allowed to.

Can a EU national (who has been in Turkey only for the last 2 weeks) fly from Turkey to Serbia -and visit the country- without any restriction too?

It's true. There have been no entry restrictions to Serbia since May. Only if you are coming from Croatia, Macedonia or Romania you need a negative PCR test. From all other countries you don't need anything. You are free to enter.

You need a PCR if you are coming from Bulgaria but Bulgaria doesn't require you have one if you are coming from Serbia.

You only need a PCR test from 4 neighboring countries (if you are a foreign citizen, if you are a Serbian citizen you don't need it). From the rest of of the world you can enter without any tests, quarantine, isolation etc.

I think Serbia can profit from Turks not being able to travel much around Europe. Serbia becomes very attractive, no visas and no corona funny business. This could be great news for local economy as well but also for the winter season as many might consider coming again after summer.

I think it's a shame Pegasus can't add more flights. They are trashy but their fares are so low.

Pegasus is definitely not trashy. Million times better than Wizz or Ryanair. Probably same level as Easyjet.

And I agree with you. BEG is among most popular destinations for Turks in Europe. In addition to that, due to dramatic fall in Turkish Lira's value, people here prefer to visit cheaper places, BEG is a perfect destination for that (compared to France or Italy or UK etc..)

Hopefully four five daily flights on both JU and TK from IST. Next we need JU to introduce 00.30 flights.

I was in downtown today and there were some Turks in cafes so I guess tourists are coming back.

In July there were 2.200 Turkish tourists in Serbia. That's about 10% of last year's number but it's still something. I suppose it will be more and more from now on.
