LOT delays Belgrade resumption over flight ban

NEWS FLASH

LOT Polish Airlines has delayed the resumption of its service between Warsaw and Belgrade due to an extension of a flight ban between the two countries imposed by the Polish government. LOT was forced to suspend the route in late November due to the measures but planned to restore it today. However, the Polish government has now prolonged the ban until December 31, 2020. The flight ban also includes Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan, and the United States (excluding the states of Illinois and New York). LOT now plans to resume flights to Belgrade on March 1, 2021.

Hopefully EU carriers will be banned from the non-EU ex-YU countries for the same time their citizens were banned from the EU. Hamper their return to the ex-YU airports.

Really smart idea. Never mind you will be hurting your own economy this way. Btw the only airline affected here is LOT - an EU airline.

Love how they banned flights to all US States, but the ones where LOT flies. A joke.

The ban covers California (LAX) and Florida (MIA), where LO flew prior to pandemic.

    1. Their customer service is horrible. They are soo rude and they definitely do not act like a serious airline . My friend was booked on Dec 09 BEG WAW YYZ, they would not rebook to alternative airline, keep telling her lies and told her to call EU parlament to complain. They do not deserve to fly to BEG.

Fait du prince results in inapplicability of regulation 261, and thus no right to rebooking, only refund.
