NEWS FLASH

Flydubai has pushed back its return to Zagreb by almost two months, until May 14. Flights between Dubai and the Croatian capital were initially to resume on March 29. Once restored, services will run on a daily basis. Flydubai will replace Emirates on the route, which the latter terminated last year.

    Because of Tway?

No. Because of covid. Majority of pax to and from DXB are transfers, from Australia and the Far East. Australia is still closed. and tourist travel from the Far East is like 1% compared to before, because of covid. Summer timetable starts in less than 3 months, and it's questionable whether the demand will increase during that time. In my opinion, further delays are to be expected. And Tway, if starts ZAG at all, announced it would be the end of 2021, so March-May period definitely has nothing to do with it

But aren't Croats going to Dubai? I follow Borna Coric on Instagram and he goes there very often. Last two, three times he flew on FZ from Belgrade.

Do FZ and EK offer ZAG via another airport until they introduce their own flights?

Very logic , QR also reduce to one weekly! No demand to Croatia at all.

Really makes you think how big ZAG's losses will be this year.

I am flying to Dubai in march. I checked prices from Zagreb and it was more expensive with flydubai from Zagreb than with Turkish via Istanbul from Ljubljana (just plane tickets, without parking in ZG and gas). So i booked from Ljubljana.

I'd never set a foot into a TK plane - with their safety track record, no thanks! They can have the best catering and IFE and they can be cheaper but hell no, safety is much more important to me at least. (Not comparing them with FZ which also has had quite some accidents actually).
