NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia transported one million doses of the Coronavirus Covid-19 vaccine from Beijing on Saturday, utilising its Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The Sinopharm-produced vaccines were transported in the cargo hold of the widebody jet in active temperature controlled containers. Air Serbia has also been running special cargo-only flights to Bahrain with its A330, operating three rotations so far, carrying medical equipment.

Different airlines have been employed to carry different types of Covid-19 vaccines to Serbia so far. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is being transported by cargo operator DHL, while the Russian-made Sputnik vaccine has been carried by Aeroflot. A further half a million doses of the Sputnik vaccine are expected to be transported to Serbia by the end of the month. Aeroflot has upgraded its capacity on its Moscow - Belgrade service this coming Saturday to the widebody Airbus A330-300 jet, however, it is unclear whether the vaccines will be transported on this commercial passenger flight.

No, they were packaged like that by the factory. They are to be returned at the end of the pandemic. They will be used for all other shipments.
