NEWS FLASH

Work at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport continues to advance with the greatest progress being made on the newly expanded part of the C concourse. Exterior panels are now being installed, while the structure has reached the existing C concourse gates. Belgrade Airport’s General Manager, Francois Berisot, recently said, “We expect that, despite all the challenges, major works will be carried out according to plan within three years. Thanks to the planned capacity upgrades, the airport, which served around 6.2 million passengers in 2019, will be able to handle a projected fifteen million passengers at the end of the concession period. Our aim is to significantly improve the level of service, comfort and variety of commercial offer at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport in accordance with best practices of parent company VINCI Airports".

Opa... 15 million? It used to be 12 million until recently. I see Vinci has revised their estimates which is truly beyond fantastic.

Nice bump in capacity. If domestic carrier keeps pace they will have 6M (40% of market) to 7,5M (50% of market) passengers per year. Opa bato for real!

Don't forget that Wizz is also boosting flights next year! I think 50% is fantastic and well below European average. LH in frankfurt IS close to 70%.

BEG has been developing nicely overall.

      2009: 2,384,077
      2019: 6,159,000

The best is yet to come. BEG's time is only coming now after covid.

There is a Serbian YouTuber that recently covered the current construction works and mentioned and exposed some concerning litter exposure very close to the current terminal. Is Vinci considering taking care of this?

He also mentions the inserted runway. It seems they are accelerating.

There's litter everywhere in Belgrade and Serbia, thanks to living habits of locals and zero fu**s given about the environment. Why would Vinci care about things outside of the airport premises? Their investments in ecology and environment surpases what any other investor did in Serbia.

We need more flights to be restored from spring. That's what we need.

@Prepelica - I guess you are right but them having the money maybe they can pay for this litter cleaning. Hopefully, the city council/municipality secures some funding for the aviation museum as it definitely needs a refurb. Other than that the new, current terminal building under construction seems to be quite modern.

I have no idea who he is. I was looking for some construction videos and bumped quite accidentally onto his videos. He covered the BEG airport construction works in quite details but also other ongoing BEG projects.

I've seen some of his videos. He gets an A for effort and dedication, but that's about it. He posts videos every day of construction development news in Beograd.
But he rarely has any valuable commentary, sometimes even gives wrong info. He doesn't research where he goes to video. He just walks around a site. So there is value in that, but that's about it.

They need to work on the signage in the airport. I don't see any "Nikola Tesla Airport" - just "Vinci Airport" everywhere. Every other airport in the world has the official names everywhere (JFK, Lester B. Pearson etc...)
