NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has scheduled Boeing 737-700 flights that will be operated through a wet-lease arrangement with the Czech Republic’s largest carrier Smartwings. The 148-seat aircraft, registered OK-SWT, is expected to arrive in the Serbian capital today. As previously reported, it will be utilised primarily on charter flights to Hurghada and Antalya, on some days operating up to three rotations to either of the two cities. However, the jet will also be deployed on select scheduled services. These include Stockholm on June 18, Milan on June 25 and Podgorica on June 26, although the timetable continues to be updated. The wet-lease has enabled the airline to increase frequencies on several routes and restore operations to others, such as Milan and Barcelona. The B737-700 will be operated by Czech crew on behalf of the Serbian carrier.

But why on Earth they took wet lease?! They have a number of crews. And there are many A320 family available for lease.

Because they don't need the plane after the height of the summer season. A dry lease can't be negotiated for a 2 month period.

Yes just like they thought they wouldn't need planes for this summer.

Belgrade had 44 flights yesterday and 50 flights today. You are obviously not up to date.

But it is still less than on the other days.
I have high expectations and i hope Vinci has them too if they want to make a lot of profit.

Dude what are you going on about? A month ago they didn't have more than 12 to 15 flights on those days. Fridays are already around 70 which is like before covid.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are weaker days for most airports and have always been weaker for Belgrade. Of course there is less demand on those days than on weekends it's just common sense.
