EX-YU airlines, airports at routes development forum

NEWS FLASH

Airlines and airports from the former Yugoslavia will be taking part at the upcoming 26th World Route Development Forum taking place in Milan between October 10 and 12. Over 185 carriers are expected to attend the event and engage in conversations with airports and destinations during both in-person and virtual meetings, which will support the recovery of global air connectivity. Routes events are unique forums dedicated to the development of air services, bringing together airlines, airports and destinations to meet, plan, discuss and negotiate new and existing flights. Attendance at the event by aviation stakeholders from the former Yugoslavia has so far been confirmed by Air Serbia, Banja Luka Airport, Dubrovnik Airport, Zagreb Airport and VINCI Airports, which manages Belgrade Airport.

  1. LJU has no problems with air connectivity, therefor they wont attend.

The problem is that Skobir/Krašnja and Co. just do not care about how many routes are served from LJU. They are slowly turning it into cargo airport. People can drive to other countries and fly from there, guys at Fraport do not care.

If you have an invitation letter that you are coming for business you can enter Italy without a problem since last summer.

True, as long as you stay less than five days, you're good to enter.

Belgrade airport management should be more interested in new airlines coming to Belgrade.
Lisbon is most underserved thus they should attract TAP.
If they would just copy Sarajevo as many already wrote here.
All Arabian airlines would make sense.
For example Saudia, Flynas, Jazeera,Air Arabia..

Or maybe Wizz already announced BEG-LIS for next summer so they are not bothering with TAP. I think for the Serbian market Wizz would be a much better fit.

I hope BEG brings airBaltic, we desperately need them back here.
