NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has begun expanding its presence on the Spanish market with the planned resumption of flights to Madrid, increased capacity to Barcelona, the launch of its new Valencia service and the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Spanish carrier Air Europa.

The airline is set to resume services from Belgrade to the Spanish capital on April 30, marking its return to Madrid for the first time since March 2020. It will run two weekly flights between the two cities. Furthermore, Air Serbia will increase capacity on its three weekly Barcelona service, with its Sunday flights to be operated by the wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft from April 24 until June 19, with the possibility of an extension.

Yesterday, Air Serbia inaugurated its new scheduled service between Belgrade and Valencia with a full A320 aircraft. Flights will be maintained twice per week. “We are very happy to start the new expansion of our network by launching the Valencia service and strengthening our presence in Spain. We are convinced that this will contribute to better connectivity and development of commercial and tourist activities between our two countries. Spain is a traditionally a market of interest for our passengers and a very popular summer holiday destination, and this is further evidenced by high demand and good load factors on flights towards all our destinations in this Mediterranean country in the coming period”, Air Serbia’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said.

Air Serbia is also expanding its codeshare agreement with Spain’s Air Europa. The Spanish carrier will add its designator code and flight numbers onto Air Serbia’s new services from Valencia and Palma to Belgrade, with the latter to launch on June 11.

Man... Spain just can't get enough of Air Serbia.

It's quite the opposite. Very huge demand is expected this year in Spain as the restrictions were lifted. Even the locals admit that the tourists were "stolen" by Greece and Turkey. But this year, the situation will be very different. They also know that are far away from this sh***y ongoing War that brought nothing but a bad mood and divisions in Europe.

They really have to lease a320 and use it for 3x daily rotations to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. Maybe even paint it in some kind of a livery like Air Baltic did with Estonia, Lithuania and Litva.

Oh well, good morning Sir Serbia. You finally realised how important and huge the Spanish market is.
Now consider Málaga and Mallorca next year and you'll see.
Good idea collaborating with Air Europa which are now part of Iberia and access to their significant domestic and Latin American market.
Madrid is the master airport for those connections and is basically covering a huge part of the important airports. Even much better than Amsterdam, London and Paris.
Latinos usually do not require a visa for Europe and quite fond of the Balkans. Not to mention the ex-Yugo and Hungarian diaspora.
There is a Croat one in Chile and Argentina. Colombia is currently booming with tourism as it is opening up. Bogotá airport has many new low-cost airlines.

Perhaps bringing BCN to 4-5 pw would be a better idea. VLC 3 pw. MAD should of relaunched as 3 pw. OSL seems to be ready for another addition frequency. ZRH as well. JU seems to be way too conservative lately.

They don't have enough planes to boost BCN, that is why they didn't respond to Wizz Air adding the third flight. They have scheduled the third in June months ago and that's about it. They are doing a massive favor to their competiton but seems like they don't care that much. I wonder if anyone in JU even knows how low their market share at BEG is.

That's why they had 35% marketshare at BEG. Market is growing but they are not.

Vueling is boosting BCN-BEG to 4 weekly in July and August. They seem to be putting up a fight.

Only a route to Seville or Malaga now to cover Andalucía and that is pretty much the whole of Spain covered.

JFK is 6 pw. Sunday is the only day JU doesn't operate to JFK, which is why the A330 will be used to BCN only on Sundays. Nothing here indicates another A330 joining the fleet.
