Finnair touches down in Zagreb

NEWS FLASH

Finland’s national carrier inaugurated a new seasonal three weekly service between Helsinki and Zagreb last evening with its 144-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. The flights will be maintained until September 29. According to reports, there were some fifty passengers on board the inaugural service from the Finnish capital. The welcome ceremony was attended by Finland’s Ambassador to Croatia. Finnair faces no competition on the route. Croatia Airlines launched seasonal summer flights between the two cities in 2017, however, the service was suspended at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and has not been restored since.

They have many cancellations because of operational issues. They don't have enough crew. They have already cancelled over a thousand flights and are wet leasing planes with crew.

No BA are reducing flights everywhere, they sacked too many people during covid and now can't employ anyone with the poor pay and conditions they offer.

    3. Far East is still closed but expected to open soon. Summer holidays season is not in full swing yet. It will not remain below breakeven point for overall numbers for sure. Jedna lasta ne cini proljece a moze i prvi macici se u vodu bacaju

The Far East opening after Covid won't really matter to Finnair as long as they can't fly over Russia. And Asians will not want to travel anywhere even remotely close to Ukraine anyway.

It's not that simple, depends on many factors.

70% you should be safe. 100pax. Matters also for how much they can sell their tickets... Special time, high price?

To give you an idea, the fuel alone should cost between €6000 and €7000 for a long sector like that (one-way) with an A319. Even though fuel is expensive at the moment, it's not even half of the total cost (aircraft lease, maintenance, crew, airport and ATC fees, ground handling etc.).

Your guesswork is as good as mine when it comes to how much passengers pay to fly that route.
