NEWS FLASH
Zagreb Airport handled 255.870 passengers last month, representing its second busiest April on record after 2019. The figure marks an improvement of 373% on last year and is down just 8.9% on the pre-pandemic 2019. During the first four months of the year, Zagreb Airport welcomed 741.156 travellers through its doors, down 16.4% on 2019. The strong passenger performance is being fuelled by Ryanair which operated over twenty routes from its base in the Croatian capital in April, as well as growing frequencies by foreign carriers.
Fuelled by Ryanair and foreign carriers. With all hundreds of millions euro wasted on OU. So sad.
ReplyDeleteAsk ZAG how much money is “wasted” on Ryanair subventions ;) uu or even better, how much money could they’ve earned if those were not Ryan passengers, but regular ones taking legacy and not LCC flights.
DeleteRe: PiR
DeleteOU will fuel the passenger performance in SPU now. Good luck SPU :)

DeleteRyanair is in ZAG after Croatia Airlines was protected like Licki Medvjed for 30 years and no LCC were let in "their teritory", or if let, succesfully chased away shortly after, no domestic competition was allowed, all airlines announcing start of scheduled services from ZAG lost their AOC, and start ups not allowed to start, on legal or illegal ways, death threats to CEO 's included. Saying Ryanair is receiving subventions is an absolute lie. Ryanair is using incentives any other airlines could have used, if capable or interested, which OU is not. People running OU are mentally stuck in 1945-1950. The situation in ZAG with connectivity, passenger numbers and financial results is worse today than it was in Yugoslavia. The major reason for that is Croatia Airlines. 10-15 years ago, Malev went bankrupt, Olympic Airways and Jat Airways were on historically lowest level, Aegean still small, Tarom and Air Bulgaria weak, entire ex-yu aerea without strong airline, tourism in Croatia starting re-booming, and with its diaspora, tourism, central geographical location, skilled professionals and their labour costs lower than to the West, Croatia and ZAG as its center had ideal preconditions to become real hub of the Balkans, and the crossroads of the Balkans to and from North and West Europe, North America and the Far East. Unfortunatelly, Croatia as the state never had serious strategy for development of its civil aviation, synergy of ZAG and OU was never even considered, and politicians taking care of their pockets and interests only, deciding about OU and ZAG, and aparatchiks "managing" OU, whose World ends in Graz, apologies, Frankfurt, brought ZAG to situation to be ranked behind Newcastle, Tromso and Treviso. And after all these, you dare complaining why ZAG brought FR. Well, shame on you, that's all I can say
What a surprise! Once again the fired - ex share holder of OU cry baby pozdrav.
DeleteWhat a surprise! Once again Uhljeb, Party bot and fanboy without single argument to reply to tragic truth stated, turns it to be personal, based on powers of the crystal ball
DeleteLong live Croatia Airlines! Those of you criticising them are just jealous because your national carrier isn't for for purpose!
DeleteNo further comment. Not needed. For anyone with IQ over 40. Which is not exactly the description of an average Adeze supporter. Clearly seen in this case.
DeleteYou can spin it in whatever manner you like, ZAG is growing and you know it ;)
DeleteOf course ZAG is finally growing. And I am happy about it. But I don't know what's your problem @Marko. Are you just playing dumb, or you really don't understand what I wrote? I wrote it was sad that ZAG was growing thanks to foreign airlines and Ryanair, and 20 years too late, instead thanks to Croatia Airlines, and 20 years ago. And if you couldn't understand what I wrote, you must be either one of those described in my post you replied to, or you are the one spinning and deliberately shifting focus from rotten and failed OU to rather succesfull ZAG
DeleteI still do not understand Ryanair. Why did they have so many cuts in June only? It seems that many of their routes will be continued in winter 2022/2023.
ReplyDeleteSomeone here said that it was due to staffing issues. Their subsidiary Lauda Europe couldn't secure enough staff in time.
DeleteIf OU under EU law allowed government backed airlines such as the current new Air Serbia, OU could've been in another situation. The good news is, yes, OU is being threatened but people from Zagreb and those visiting will now pay much less...
ReplyDeleteBravo Hrvatska!
