Trade Air has once again delayed the resumption of its domestic services which are operated under Public Service Obligation (PSO) contracts with the Croatian government, as the latter has once again failed to conclude the agreements. Trade Air now expects for the domestic flights to begin on August 15 with ticket sales to commence on August 1. Trade Air, which has maintained a considerable number of PSO flights in the past, was forced to suspended all of its domestic operations at the start of May due to the government’s heavily delayed and prolonged process in selecting new PSO operators, despite only two airlines applying and eventually being awarded the services, the other being Croatia Airlines. The government was due to conclude the contracts following a two-year delay by the end of June, with their validity to come into force on July 4, however this is yet to occur. Trade Air plans to lease a Saab 340 aircraft to maintain the domestic operations.

ReplyDeleteToo costly and not that many passengers... Flights from Zagreb to Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik shouldn't be PSO flights. Regular price, regular earnings. Stop wasting taxpayers money!

JU always is in need of aircraft in summer and Trade does have them .
Is it because Croats and Serbs dont get along ..?
Trade Air used to operate for Jat Airways flights to Tivat, Malta, Budapest, Brussels and Stockholm, probably even more, can't remember all, both scheduled and charter. Croats and Serbs have lived together for hundreds of years and still do, and 90 % of normal people from both sides have no issues at all with which other. And their politicians get along even better, using hatry propaganda to make their theft easier, both sides

ReplyDeleteI know these are PSO flights but I often saw American and Chinese tourists on RJK to DBV and PUY to SPU. people short on time wanting to see more. can only be good for economy. now this delay??
rumour that Jadrolinija,ferry Rijeka to Dubrovnik may restart 2023? who knows?
