NEWS FLASH

Sarajevo Airport handled its millionth passenger in 2022 last week and is on track to register its busiest year on record. In August alone, it saw its busiest month ever, welcoming 217.253 passengers, representing an increase of 21.4% on the pre-pandemic 2019. “Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital has never been better connected to Europe and the rest of the world, with flights to the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Scandinavian markets and others. Wizz Air has played a big role, which opened a base in Sarajevo last year and connected the city with many points in Western Europe”, Sabina Kovač from Sarajevo Airport said. During the January - August period, Sarajevo Airport welcomed 987.662 travellers through its doors, up 20.8% on 2019. Its millionth traveller of the year was handled last Saturday, on September 3.

SKP used to be way ahead of SJJ. Now that has decreased quite a lot, in SJJs favor.

SJJ was behind even Tivat and Podgorica before Covid. So, now is that seventh airport in EX countries.

"dream on. SKP reached 1m, two months ago"
That's nothing compared to the gap that existed between SKP and SJJ until this year, that's what people are trying to say so it's not impossible this gap continue to lessen further.

Why the May 2022 in comparing to 2019 was 78,7% higher?

Because Bayram was in May this year while in 2019 it was in June. More people travel (especially from the Gulf) during Bayram.
