Canadian leisure carrier Air Transat will restore three weekly flights on its seasonal service between Toronto and Zagreb next summer. Based on its current schedule, the airline will maintain three weekly rotations between the two cities from June 20 until September 23 with the A330-200 jet, bringing frequencies in line with those prior to the coronavirus pandemic in 2019. The carrier will resume flights to the Croatian capital on June 6 with two weekly flights for the first two weeks, and end them on September 30, with two weekly flights also maintained during the last week of operations. However, based on its current schedule, the airline will resume the seasonal service somewhat later than usual, leaving the possibility that additional rotations will be scheduled for either April or May.

DeleteVery good news for ZAG. A chance to restore its long-haul legacy position. Seoul should be next as it used to be. American Airlines to DBV. Croatia has excellent potential for various long-haul destinations and not concentrated only in the capital.
ReplyDeleteZAG used to have combined Rouge and Transat 7x from Toronto, Emirates and Korean. So far only Transat returned.

DeleteIf it stays as it is, the total number of flights for the next year will be less than they had pre-Covid. They offered flights all the way through October, including this year. A friend of mine just flew with them last month. The flight to ZAG was about 60% full. However on his way back to YYZ, he said it was full to the last seat. This was the second to last scheduled flight. I guess this is due to many travellers finishing their vacation and returning to Canada.
