NEWS FLASH

Ljubljana will play host to the New Air Gateway to Europe aviation conference, being organised by ATO COMM. This event, taking place on February 2, will gather representatives of commercial aviation stakeholders from across the industry to discuss the prospects for a region of increasing importance to global air transport. The conference will provide participants with a rare opportunity to get acquainted with tailored data, analytics, forecasts and unique insights from both leading consultants and analysts, as well as directly from stakeholders in the region's air transportation market. Among those taking part will be the CEO of Air Serbia, Jiri Marek, as a keynote speaker, the CEO of Croatia’s ETF Airways, Stjepan Bedić, who will share his views on ACMI operations as a business development driver, as well as the Managing Director of Slovenia’s Amelia International, Matija Krajnc,  representatives from Aegean Airlines, Turkish Airlines, IATA Economics, ch-aviation, Athens Airport, the Slovenian government and many more. Topics that will be discussed include: the current and future role of airlines in Southern Europe, airlines fleet and network development strategy, the evolution of the infrastructure landscape - Southern Europe airports perspectives, ATC/ATM reform - objectives and obstacles, and sustainability in air transport: strategy and tactics.

Further conference details can be found here. EX-YU Aviation News is proud to be the conference’s media partner.

New government initiatives, Zagreb fee increases, this conference, and the overall pax potential could bring a lot of positivity to the Ljubljana airport - finally.

Well, what if on that conference they provide some data and analytics that contradict the Holy Post-COVID Divine Business Plan? What are they to do then?! You cannot go against the plan that you paid such good money for. They would be in conflict with themselves and the Divine nature. Better not to risk something like that...

BCG couldn't propose the best option, because it was limited by OU itself giving the frame for the plan to be structured in order to keep feeding Cartel. And the main reason, as I have written several times, was to split the money

The conference takes place on Feb 2nd, however the management of LJU airport instructed all the participants to plan their flights on Jan 31th to ZAG, VCE or VIE and to use a special promotion code (FRAPORT10) on their shuttle service from above-mentioned airports to LJU. FRAPORT10 brings you a 10% discount with our van shuttle partner GO-OPTI.

I propose to extend the code to those enthusiasts, who would like to fly to LJU, but are forced to spend the night in airport capsules in ZRH or FRA while waiting for rare and affordable LH group connections to LJU :-)

LJU airport management already prepared a list of FAQ, where you can find:
      - all the answers regarding the van shuttle transfer from VCE, ZAG and VIE
      - recommended hotels to stay at in VCE, ZAG and VIE
      - recommended short city sightseeing options in VCE, ZAG and VIE (waiting time for host´s van shuttle partner is up to 4h).

The FAQ also includes travel guidences for participants from Spain, Portugal, Scandinavia, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, The Baltics, and those participants living outside Paris, Munich and Frankurt in France and Germany. The hosts´ recommendations to these participants is to fly to VCE, ZAG or VIE (the host also stresses that flying to neighbouring countries brings a real slovene experience - dont we all want that?). Recommendation is based on an average ticket fare and traveling time from above-mentioned countries to LJU airport. Participants should mind that air-travel costs, incured by flying to LJU airport, will only be reimbursed if the participant travels on a low-carrier or on a legacy carrier, but in the lowest fare class.

The management has not answered yet, why they set the criteria for reimbursement of travel costs in such way that discourages participants from flying to LJU airport. The rule on reimbursement of travel costs in case of LJU airport means no participant will fly to LJU airport as there are almost no low cost carriers present and absolutely no fares available in the lowest class. LH has not comented on the matter of ticket fares, however it emphasized that Fraport is its most reliable partner and has no reason to doubt in its strategy.

Slovenia ask share in market, but no way, only if give aeroports to big operators.Serbia give aeroports to Vinci and air company to Etihad. Before that air biznis in Serbia loose money. Now that working well. Too small market like Slovenia, Montenegro or Macedonia cannot be a profitable.

Or Croatia, the biggest market in ex-yu, with 11 million pax annually, which gave ZAG to French and Turkish, and agreed OU to be the Cartel feeder for Germans, with market share of 15 %, and dropping. Another excellent example of "now that really working well". Btw please do continue posting in English, it's so refreshing.... 😃
