Transavia has cancelled its flights between Amsterdam and Ljubljana for the remainder of the 2022/23 winter season, from January 8, when it will operate its last service on the route. Operations are scheduled to be restored on March 26, with four weekly rotations. Transavia has been cancelling select services to the Slovenian capital throughout this winter due to capacity and staffing restraints at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The low cost carrier initially planned to suspend its flights to Slovenia from early January until February 2. At one point this winter, select flights from Ljubljana operated to Rotterdam instead.

ReplyDeleteZAG doesn't have any effect on AMS flights. Those flights from LJU are always packed so the issue has to be by the company, not LJU.

DeleteThe problem with referendum of that sorts is that about 80% of population does not feel the loss of adria, but coincidentally those 80% of population result in 20% of overall GDP.

Slovenia is developed country by all means (first world country) unlike other ex-yu countries, including those with national airlines.

The same mindset as Austrian "malomescani" who consider Slovenia the same you consider "other ex-yu countries". But statistics are not the mirror of the real life. And do me a favour and don't patronize "other ex-yu countries" because you are exactly the same as them. You have slightly bigger salaries and slightly bigger costs and prices, you have crime and corruption, you have political influence on everything, you have the largest percentage of state owned business, and so on and so on. First World country, maybe like Luxembourg or Norway, hahahahahahahaha

Technically, they are buying them out beacuse of Nitrogen depositions not CO2.. And farming is all nice and good until you see the numbers in the Netherlands per capita and in absolute numbers, they will drown in their own livestock shit if it goes on like this.
DeleteThe reduction in flights is an issue regarding noise pollution which if you look at their reasoning is absurd. But, they are already backpeddalling on the issue, especially because the EU commission has the final say in this and they are not amused.
Noise pollution. Why didn't Lisbon complain having its airport literally within the city centre limits? The Netherlands is just a small, insignificant country with complex issues. Not to mention the cocaine capital scandal.And now they are playing games on the Balkans.
DeleteTransavia will never succeed in the region because they have no vision, no clue of the region and know that Eindhoven is already very strong Wizzair airport. Eindhoven has an extremely strong O&D traffic and an Amsterdam cheap alternative. It is time for LJU-EIN flights.
I don’t know why, but in 2019 you have to know that Lisbon had less than 50% of the number of flights Amsterdam had. I wouldn’t exactly say that the seventh economy in Europe is insignificant and small but everyone has their own perspective I guess. As to the Balkans, within 5 years KLM went from almost zero to double daily ZAG, double daily BEG and Split year-round so I guess they are playing it pretty good.

I agree about the Netherlands - they are on wrong track, weird and deformed. But I don't agree about Transavia - in my opinion they are the best LCC in Europe. Not the biggest, but far far far from insignificant, with something like 100 aircraft in both branches, Dutch and French, and absolutely reliable and with good product

ReplyDeleteCityhopper at the moment has no aircraft or staff to spare so they are looking at more profitable routes (Katowice, Aarhus, Southampton etc.). Unfortunately, LJU has become an insignificant player in the region 🤷🏼♂️
