NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has said hundreds of applications have been submitted for the airline’s largest cabin crew recruitment drive in five years. The carrier noted it has been swamped with calls from those interested in taking part in the recruitment. The airline has since put up a direct link to the application form on the landing page of its website. Those interested have until this Friday, February 24, to apply. “We are glad about the great interest for the position of cabin crew at our company. The expansion of our network of destinations and our fleet created opportunities for hiring new members of our team. As prior experience has shown, the majority of applications usually arrive in the last few days of the call, which once again proved to be correct. I invite all candidates who wish to join the national airline as cabin crew members to use this opportunity and apply”, the carrier’s General Manager for People and Performance, Milica Netković said.

When they find out the salary paid by AirSerbia most of them will give up

We all know their salary, so your theory dors seem to be a concern for those applying for those jobs.. Does posting something negative about JU makes your day better ?

The fact you use base vs maximal potential speaks a lot about how you see work ethics.

Sure, but when you get sick you only receive 420 euros. Good luck living on that amount in Belgrade, especially if you dont own an appartment

No way this is the base salary of the cabin crew. This is less than the call centre agent salary without bonuses, and it is even lower than Serbian average.
Honestly, I cannot trust this is the correct information.

Ok, so you just dont get it. Mentioning sick days just confirms your work ethics of looking to play sick 365 days a year.

OK, granted, 2 weeks a year you might be sick, and you will get a base for those two weeks. Can you now please provide the full comp package for s regular month, please? If you didnt get the point of my last comment, the question was what is the total possible comp. Please don’t reply with something defetist again, like calling out sick days…

    Well said.
Reading some negative comments, I would say that they all come from those who would rather sit in cafe whole day.every day but work for salary as it is never good enough for them, cause they worth much more... And in reality, they nobody would even consider then for any position even if it would be for free.

It's the Serbian flag carrier, it goes without saying that the crew should speak Serbian as a general rule.

Nemjee, I think your comment is not very appropriate. In your beloved Cyprus. people come from different backgrounds and serve you at the hotels. Emirates or Etihad have a heavily international cabin crew. LCC cabins are rotating all the time and they can be just from anywhere. Who cares where the cabin crew are from as long as they perform their job correctly. Besides, if you are a regular traveller, you will quite often detect the accent of the pilots speaking or the cabin crew. I flew Emirates a couple of times and they had non-Arab gorgeous looking and professional crew.

      +1, well said

Diversity makes us better. Air Serbia is positioning itself as a transfer airline so no need for “only Serbian” mentality. Cyprus and Malta are good examples of recently opened markets. The Gulf countries even more so.

Citizen or not, cabin crew on a Serbian airline should know how to speak Serbian. Same way Japan Airlines would only hire crew that at least speak Japanese, or Asiana the same for Korean.

Actually it is the opposite. There are so many opportunities for young people, particularly in big cities, that it is pushing the price of labor up. Without any substanital growth in wages in JU there is simply no incentive for people to choose JU over a plethora of big companies in these cities.

Particularly as the new crew will not be working on the A330 for first two or three years, rather doing double daily ATRs

So true. In Martinique and Guadeloupe islands of the French Republic, I did not feel white, nor European, nor foreign, nor richer nor poorer, even though everyone is black there, up until I had to say something in English. They were all French, all black and I was assumed to be French until I had something to say.
