NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Volotea will add its designator code and flight numbers onto Aegean Airlines’ services from Athens to both Zagreb and Split this summer. The codeshare will come into force on the day the Greek carrier resumes operations on the two routes, on March 29 and June 6 respectively. Aegean and Volotea became codeshare partners in 2021. Flights to the Croatian capital will soon be bookable through Volotea’s website while those to Split are already available for purchase.
Interesting that an LCC codeshares with another network carrier.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Two airlines and two different concept of services.
ReplyDeleteThose two have been co-operating and having extensive codeshares for many years now.
ReplyDeleteMany? They start code-share summer 2021. So thats less than 2 years
DeleteIt would be nice if you book on an LCC and enjoy Aegean's service.
ReplyDeleteIt can happen, it started off with them code-sharing on routes they don’t compete on and now if I’m not mistaken it also includes some routes they do compete on with each other, it has worked out quite well for both airlines
DeleteAmazing airline. Flew with them from Oviedo to Sevilla and from La Coruña to Málaga for barely 19€. Way much better than Vueling. I hope they operate flights to ZAG soon as they usually do medium-sized airports.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know. Once flew with them (VIE-NTE). Longest boarding process ever. They checked every single hand luggage item very precisely (measures and weight). If it was a millimeter too wide or a few grams overweight, every and I swear everyone had to pay on the spot some I don't remember 60 or 80 euros while boarding or else leave the luggage behind in Vienna. Half of pax were massively outraged and felt ripped off. I had never seen sth like that. They left a very bad impression and on board there was zero service except once a BoB cart going through the cabin where 90% of items were sold out :)
DeleteYou mean you flew from Asturias to Sevilla?
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
DeleteFantastična cijena na relaciji ST-ATH, samo 500+ eura za povratnu kartu u 6.mj. Navali narode!
ReplyDeleteIsnt flying that combination a detour ?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest direct flights would make more sense than this codeshares .
Unfortunately its just another spanish airline - they just dont seem to have any clue about the Balkans !
What are you talking about? What combination? What detour? Aegean flies nonstop from Athens to Zagreb and to Split and Volotea is adding its flight numbers on the flights and selling tickets as well. Did you read the article at all? Do you know what codeshare is?
DeleteBoth Iberia and Vueling definitely have a clue about the Balkans because they operate to ex-yu region, where and when there is demand. And Volotea is not exclusively spanish airline, they have bases in Spain, France, Italy and Greece
DeleteThat's it Pozdrav, defend every Airline except OU!
