NEWS FLASH

TAV Macedonia, the operator of Skopje and Ohrid airports, has named Nejat Kurt as its new General Manager. Mr Kurt has been in the aviation industry for 23 years. In 2010 he became the Manager of Ohrid Airport, while in 2012 he was appointed as Skopje Airport Manager, running the airport’s overall operations. In 2014, TAV Airports assigned Mr Kurt as Transition Coordinator at Madinah Airport in Saudi Arabia. Two years later, Mr Kurt was assigned as the ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer) Terminal and Landside Coordinator at Zagreb Airport. In August 2017, he was appointed as the Operations Coordinator for the transition of three airports that were taken under concession from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by TAV Airports, followed by the role of Committee Chairman responsible for airport digitalisation of Medina Airport. By the end 2018, Mr Kurt returned to Macedonia, as Airports Operations Coordinator, responsible for both Skopje and Ohrid airports. In the first quarter of 2019, Mr Kurt was appointed as TAV Macedonia Deputy General Manager for Operations. Mr Kurt is Turkish but was born and grew up in Germany. He replaces Metin Batak who has led TAV Macedonia since October 2020 and who has now been appointed as TAV Tunisia Executive Board Member, which operates Enfidha and Monastir airports.
