Croatia Airlines joins De Havilland component program

NEWS FLASH

De Havilland Canada has signed a De Havilland Component Solutions Program (DCS Program) agreement with Croatia Airlines. Under the deal, De Havilland will manage component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the airline’s fleet of six Dash 8-400 aircraft and provide access to De Havilland’s strategically located exchange pool. Although the Croatian carrier will begin phasing out the turboprop aircraft from its fleet as it moves towards exclusively utilising the Airbus A220 aircraft, the process is expected to take several years.

Commenting on the deal at the Paris Air Show, Croatia Airlines’ CEO, Jasmin Bajić, said, “The DCS Program offers the cost predictability that is so important in airline management. We look forward to benefitting from access to De Havilland Canada’s expertise in warranty administration, planning and supplier management to enhance the operations of our Dash 8-400 aircraft”. Leighton Storsley, De Havilland Canada’s Vice President for Aftermarket and Business Development, added, “We are delighted to welcome Croatia Airlines to our De Havilland Component Solutions Program, and we look forward to supporting the airline’s operation well into the future. Our highly customisable DCS Program allows businesses to focus on their key business objectives, while we take care of their component management requirements”.

Their CEO is in PR offensive like the politicians before the elections. Just two issues: passengers and destinations.

It sounds like a good deal. Even though they won't have the dash 8 soon.

But I wonder what are they leaving out? What are the possible negatives of this deal?

How much will this cost OU? How much will it save them?

Who is benefitting the most from the deal?
