TRIP REPORT

Written by Ilija Bogdanović

Aircraft : A321
Flight Number: W6 4026
Flight Time: 01:30 mins

Hello everyone, today a trip report from my Wizz Air flight between Nice and Belgrade.

I left my house at 7PM and headed to the train station, which is also where the busses leave, in order to take the number 200/620 bus to the airport. The ticket costs 2,50 euros. Upon arrival at the airport, I ran to Terminal 2, since, according to Wizz Air, the flight was on time. However, as it turned out, it was late by an hour and 45 minutes.

Inside Terminal 2, I saw the Scottish Rugby team, who had arrived to prepare for the Rugby World Cup. I talked to them a bit and by that time our plane from Belgrade had landed. We were assigned gate B24. The gate area was full.

After waiting for around 25 minutes at the gate, boarding finally began. I had seat 38A. The seat had very limited legroom and was not too comfortable.

We took off from Nice at 11PM. I was not hungry but I was thirsty, so I purchased coke for a couple of euros. The crew was rather nice and generous.

We approached Belgrade and lined up for landing at runway 30L. We had a beautiful view of the Serbian capital during approach. We touched down at 1AM, almost two hours behind schedule. As the passengers disembarked, I took the opportunity to ask the pilots to enter the cockpit. They accepted my request and I took some photos.

I disembarked the plane and had some nice views along the corridors headed towards arrivals. When I arrived at passport control the queue was long. It took me around 10 - 15 minutes to pass the passport check.

As I exited the airport from the new building, I saw that a lot of the surrounding area has been upgraded since I last travellered to Belgrade, like the new control tower.

It was a good flight, thanks to the cabin crew :)

Thanks everyone!

It is a busy summer and other airlines are also late but Wizz being two hours behind schedule on arrival is something passengers are still getting used to. New normal for air travel.

Yet judging by what people write online one would think it's only JU that is late.

Meanwhile Wizz is even worse. This morning someone messed up at their scheduling department so they were supposed to have 5 departures with 4 planes. That is why EIN was moved from 07.00 this morning to 17.00.

They didn't mess anything up, they just rescheduled BCN to the morning wave, the flight was supposed to depart yesterday. Handling problems at BEG, nothing new here...

I understand if you’re not from Belgrade or Serbia to witness what’s happening over the past few days with storms and hurricane winds. Sometimes things can get out of control and nobody is to blame, it’s the Mother Nature. I think Wizz handles it really well, they’re trying to accommodate affected passengers as soon as possible. Everyone is put to hotels, nobody sleeps at the airport. Flights get moved around, but in the end nobody stays behind.

I arrived today from ZRH LX1416 operated by Helvetic LF 100% 104/104, it took me 15min from the exit of the a/c, customs, baggage claim until the entry of bus A1, everything went very fast

This is not normal. Wizz flight W6 4071 from BEG to EIN scheduled for 6:55 departed at 18:03. Over 11 hours of delay.

Sadly it's not an isolated case. Wizz flight 4262 LCA-BEG departed 9 hours late today.

I was traveling in February on this route, and I can say I was pretty surprised that the flight was full in both ways and that most of pax were with higher fares, not the cheapest. Also, Nice Airport is perfection, so well connected with the city center, well organized and with a great view on the apron

I know ten people who have used this Wizz flight to Nice in the last 6 months. All went for tourism. I think it is popular.

Did Wizz Air‘s enlarged flights have any negative impact financially on Air Serbia? Anyone knows?

Thanks for taking time to put together this trip report. It’s interesting you mentioned the flight was good thanks to the cabin crew — I also think that Wizz Air’s crew operating out of the Belgrade base is very kind and professional. Additionally, in my opinion, the only disadvantage Wizz has is their limiting cabin luggage policy. Other than that, they offer all you need for a short journey.

      Interesting to hear.
It was already reported that their crews at Skopje are also very good.
Maybe its a mentality thing as their crew are all locals?!
