NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is hiring Cabin Crew Brand Ambassadors for China whose main role will be to perform simultaneous translation for the needs of cabin crew and cabin crew leaders in communication with passengers in-flight and with visitors at the carrier’s Premium Lounge in Belgrade. It comes as Air Serbia prepares to increase operations to Tianjin on October 31 and its planned expansion in China after being granted permits to launch flights to Shanghai and Guangzhou. Interested applicants must have excellent knowledge of both Chinese and English. Serbian is not required for this role. Among other tasks, the Brand Ambassador will “help in solving problems of passengers/cabin crew members/cabin crew leaders in a satisfactory manner”. Furthermore, they will “assists the crew in communicating with ground services in China in order to maintain a smooth flight process and procedures on the ground”. The position does not require the Brand Ambassadors to undertake typical cabin crew tasks but will primarily be on hand to assist colleagues with Chinese speaking passengers and ground staff. Unlike other cabin crew roles at Air Serbia, the Brand Ambassador position for China does not require Serbian citizenship. The application deadline has been set for August 10. Further job requirements, as well as the application form, can be found here.

Is the Serbian citizenship a legal requirement or just something someone made up at JU? As it says cabin crew, are there any foreign pilots flying for JU?

To be employed in any country you need a work permit. Being a citizen makes the process simpler and that is why many companies would not opt to hire foreigners. However, world is changing and Serbia as well. Procedures are simple and quick nowadays and companies started to open.
I am super happy to hear that AirSerbia is finally opening for the flight attendants of non Serbian citizenship. I hope in coming years to see cabin crew at all the positions coming at least from the region or just Open Balkan as for them market is completely open.

Third one could have been flying to MIA, YYZ and boosting JFK by now if it wasn't for "China first" policy. Disclaimer: not acknowledged as an official Air Serbia policy.

If the market is so huge, how come not one of three longhaul airlines from Toronto have launched BEG?

Calling AC, WS and TS 'airlines from Toronto' indicates complete absence of Canadian aviation knowledge.

      Fool,

Those three airlines have hubs in Toronto and fly longhaul to Europe. Obviously they don't see a lot of potential in YYZ-BEG and neither does JU since JU will be launching two more routes to China soon.

Westjet has a hub in Toronto and flies longhaul to Europe? Westjet does not fly longhaul from Toronto. Not a single route.

WJ is complete garbage airline and TS is not much better . So there is hardly one decent Canadian international airline offering flights from Toronto and Canada . Thst indicates how bad their market it is . General public in Canada has a huge debt and can not afford to travel. If you ever travelling via Toronto 80% of traveller's are indiand and Pakistan immigrants.

Nope, they should not be able to speak Serbian? Why would they??? They will assist Chinese pax on the airports in Serbia and Chinaand during the flight. I am sure they will not even have crew trainings as they will not be "official" crew with crew duties
