Air Serbia schedules up to four daily Istanbul flights

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will increase operations between Belgrade and Istanbul’s main gateway to 23 weekly flights this coming winter season, which begins on October 29. It represents a boost of six weekly flights on the previous 2022/23 winter season, and an additional five weekly on this summer’s peak frequency. The airline will operate three daily flights on the route this coming winter with four daily rotations on Thursdays and Fridays. All will be maintained with the Airbus A320-family fleet. They will complement Turkish Airlines’ three daily operations between the two cities for a total of 44 weekly flights. In addition, Pegasus Airlines will maintain operations from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport and the Serbian capital four times per week.

Don't be so dense. Yed, there will be delays, quite obviously. But for a small, regional airline these are huge steps.

For sure especially once regular maintenance starts trimming down the fleet.

Anon 14.35 no need for such comments. All it takes is to go on Flight Radar 24 and check if there are delays. Unfortunately JU is still struggling to cope with all this extra traffic and delays are still a daily occurrence. I also think they are stretching themselves thin this winter and there is no need for such growth.

Maybe they are avoiding night flights to SJJ in winter due to the fog and other kinds of bad weather.

Does anyone understand what all is driving this growth? It's really remarkable; there will now be an A320 like every 2 hours to Istanbul. It's probably more frequent service from Belgrade than by bus to, say, Subotica or Leskovac. Why is there so much demand to Istanbul? Is it business? Connecting flights? Russians?

Twice a week for Málaga is more than enough.

      Delete
    2. How do you know that? I use that route at least once a month, and I'm quite competent to say that it is not enough...Even those 3 flight per week were barely enough...There are milions of Russians using this route, 'cause there is loads of them living or having apartments in Malaga region, especially Marbella. That's Russian town..

    3. Anonymous19:48

And again those trolls that say that every lousy frequency is good enough and that there is never demand for anywhere.
Twice a week to Malaga might be fine for the beginning but there is potential to increase.
And if JU doesnt want to, there is still Wizz Air or even Easyjet.
Twice a week JU against twice a week Wizz would be perfect in a customers view.
