NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways handled 32.437 passengers on its Doha - Zagreb service during the first half of the year, representing an increase of 90.8% on the same period in 2022, however, figures are still down 53.1% on the pre-pandemic 2019. The average cabin load factor on the route for the first six-month period in 2023 stood at a high 89.4%, up 28.5 points on 2022 and an increase of 19.9 points on 2019. This winter season, the Qatari carrier will maintain daily flights between the two capital cities, down from double daily prior to the pandemic.

No sane person would applaude that - when you go from double daily to just daily your LF will go up. But the real elephant in the room is tragic 53% passengers on the 2019. Reason to cry not celebrate.

No, no, no, @17.46, you don't understand, Croatia is day by day emptier, poorer and dumber. Croatia Airlines, to remain within the blog, is complete disaster, even Ryanair is not progressing as expected, Qatar is on 53% of 2019 but all that is not important. Kradeze is in charge, and that's reason enough for Bravo Hrvatska because Kradeze is owner of Hrvatska, Kradeze is Hrvatska, and that is only that matters, even if we all die of hunger

Well, QR is progressing nicely. Problem is lack of aircraft, not demand. As opposed to 2019, they fly again whole GCC and significantly more Africa. Even BUD, PRG and WAW are lower than 2019. I would imagine that with very high fares QR is able to sell, and with so high LF they make very healthy revenue. And from July they went to 10 weekly.

They have lack of narrow bodies cause their order for the A321neo got canceled by airbus a while ago so they ordered the max aircraft, as they are slowly entering the Qatar's fleet more and more frequencies will be invreased and added.

QR flying more Africa means money is to be made there rather then by returning to 2019 levels in ZAG

load factor is very good. Interesting that it is better than in 2019. Perhaps too much capacity back then?

Nice growth! Is someone able to estimate how much passengers could be Slovene? Is there any chance they start flights to Ljubljana?

I used them twice in may flew Zagreb - Doha and Doha - Zagreb

Zagreb - Doha was maybe 60% lf and Doha - Zagreb (2 weeks later) had a LF of nearly 100%.

The passengers were a mixture of Croats, Asian tourists, Croatian diaspora from Australia, Slpvenes and maybe a few Indian/Nepalese workers (I think they use flydubai more). I can only speak for my two flights but the Slovenes were just a fraction of the passengers and definitely not 45% (but maybe other flights have a different passenger structure).
