NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia plans to change flight numbers on some of its Belgrade routes starting from the 2024 summer season, which begins on March 31, 2024. The change will affect flights from JU100 to JU999. The carrier will modify flight numbers for operational and organisational purposes. The airline has restored the flight numbering system on some routes used by its predecessor JAT Yugoslav Airlines. For example, flights to and from the likes of Rome and Milan will reinstate their historical flight numbers from late March of next year. The carrier will notify passengers of changes to their flight numbers. Passengers are advised to double-check their flight information before traveling to ensure they have the most up-to-date details, including the flight number.

ReplyDeleteHopefully this LCA flight change is the last one, in 10 years they changed it three times.
ReplyDeleteEtihad was the first one to change it from JU 068/069 to JU 506/507 then it was later changed to JU 800 sequence and now to 480.
On a side note uniforms look much nicer in the video than they did during the relatively awkward show they organized. At least to me they look better than the ones they had until now.

DeleteБаш сам сада гледао униформу КЛМ-а и она ми се чини доста комплекса за ношење али и за одржавање. Њихова посада нема тих проблема већ је поносно носи. Искрено мислим да наша посада више кука да би кукала против свог послодавца него била шта друго.
@nemjee Agree! Sometimes I think they forget they are there for the passengers, not the other way around. I think the forget that it is the passenger that is the King, not the other way around. As for the KLM crew, amazing people, jolly, funny, enjoying their work. They are not the best paid people in the Netherlands, but still do not go around like haters, quite the opposite.

DeleteTo explain the unpracticality: the shirt of the female crew gets cresses on these “wing like” details when worn under the jacket and it loses its shape. After a relatively short period of wear it looks sloppy.
DeleteOn a side note KLM crew has an allowance for uniform upkeep while Airserbia does not provide one and you are expected to pay for the upkeep yourself from your dwindling salary.

DeleteAnon 14.11, you are absolutely wrong. It's not spoken in Belgrade, but since when Belgrade modern accents are any reference?! Go to the Western Serbian and you will hear people actually speak like RTS. And if you don't believe, please ask someone who studied Serbian language to give you the lesson about accents.

DeleteBy that logic what benefit did Etihad have from changing them in the first place? On the other hand Air Serbia is sticking to continuity and keeping a certain tradition alive. Many passengers get used to flight numbers over the years. People like many things but change is not one of them.

DeleteI usually know the flight number, however I agree that from the point of view of a pasanger, the flight number is not that important. After landing in the US, you will be usually asked to fill out customs form in which they ask you for the flight number.

@15.44 that's precisely an internal reason. But, you are not correct. It has nothing to do with EY or its legacy.
DeleteThe only thing I need to understand is that AirSerbia is returning the JAT flight numbers, yet at the same time, they managed to outgrow the entire system. These may be first-world issues, but, for example, I tend to tell my assistant to get me on JU190/194 on certain days and make sure I return on JU601/605 on the day I need to. People may see it as superficial, but from a business-oriented passenger, it does help to know the numbers. All/any of them.
