Low cost carrier Pegasus Airlines has scheduled flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Zagreb, becoming the second Turkish carrier to serve the Croatian capital on a scheduled basis. As previously reported, Pegasus set out to commence operations to Zagreb this winter following several attempts over the years to obtain necessary regulatory approval. The carrier will maintain two weekly flights between the two cities starting January 18, 2024. Tickets are now available for purchase through the airline’s website. Pegasus boasts a strong presence in the region with Zagreb complementing its operations to Belgrade, Pristina, Podgorica, Sarajevo, and Skopje. DeleteOk, I will answer the question : Most of the destinations to the East from Sabiha, which are other cities in Turkey, and all over the Middle East and Caucasus are daily. So you basically connect to most of the Pegasus eastwards network even if ZAG is twice weekly. Not to mention it's just the beginning of operations during low winter season. No doubt frequencies will be increased significantly during the next summer timetable. But I expected exactly this type of comments coming from "no demand in ZAG" mantra posters
They're probably careful, I mean, they started selling tickets a month and a half before launching.
DeleteI wonder which routes will be next for ZAG? Ryanair will start its flights to Podgorica, Sofia and Manchester on April 2nd, instead of June 1st!

DeleteYou are right! Excellent connections to other destinations in Turkey, Middle East, Caucasus etc. Going to use this flight as a first segment of my next travel to Erbil. Second segment can be Pegasus or Anadolu. Timing will be perfect.

DeleteSo far we have Pegasus adding SAW, Ryanair launching five new routes, Ryanair restarting three routes and adding frequencies to almost every route and Iberia starting 7-9 weekly flights in April

DeleteLH increasing MUC by 7pw (getting back to pre Covid 14pw), Air Serbia most likely keeping 17pw from this winter, which is +3pw increase, Fly Dubai increasing by 2pw, most likely Qatar, even if it keeps 10pw, that's still +3pw for the first half of the summer.
DeleteThere are more increases/new destinations in the works, but the outcome is 60/40, not certain yet.
Qatar is apparently going up to double daily from April, I know slots have already been requested. Hopefully it will be like that.
